Love these ideas, especially the ones that directly support good causes -- although even though I don't support Hillary (aka corporate candiadate B) -- the Hillary Nutcracker is a HOOT!

Might I suggest

a vist to the online CODEPINK Store Holiday Section.

Give a used / recycled gift -- I'm giving books I've found in thrift shops & antique stores, that are 100 years or older to several people along with pre-WWII Japanese dishes, a wedgewood commemorative plate with Nixon's profile to join a friend's bad president's collection.

Find that lonely elder on your block and offer to do some Holiday errands for them, invite him or her to dinner or give them a plate of Christmas Cookies.

Let's think outside the commercial box for the Holidays.

Ok, that Hillary Nutcracker is one of the funniest things I've seen since Nunzilla. I just bought one for my mother who has the same twisted sense of humor. And we both like Hillary.

I have a sick fondness for the Hillary Nutcracker, as does our youngest child. Then again, she's the one who wanders the house yelling Hill! Hill! Hillary!!!!! all day long.

What do you get for the political junkie who has everything? A Hillary Clinton nutcracker? A ticket out of Iowa? Here are some ideas- and while some scream "I guess I'll give this to my father in law since I don't know what else to get him," there are some great gifts here, from silly to serious. Read on...

10) If you support unions, Shop Union Made is a great website with union-made goodies from gourmet coffee to clothes.

9) Bumper Stickers are a Political Institution (my all time favorite is “Don’t Steal. The Government Hates Competition.”) So if you’re inspired to design bumper sticker this election year, check out:

7) if you know a memorabilia junkie, give them a cool Obama pin or a Romney placard or, splurge for a New York Times from a memorable date – from the Titanic to historic elections, it’s great for a history buff. My dad is getting this: Roosevelt's first victory, I think.

6) Political Campaigns=Dolls: from bobble heads (get the official ’08 set) at to action figures . Just please, don't buy the one with George Bush sporting a giant cod piece.

5) Sponsor a woman to run for office. If you’re a Democrat, give some seed money to EMILY’s list. If you’re Republican check out the National Federation of Republican Women.

4) Be green for real. Your local Sierra Club sponsors green spaces and green elections . Membership only costs $15 and you’ll get opportunities for local outings and ecotourism along with your planet-saving. 3) Stephen Colbert has a new book out. It’s called “I am America. And So Can You!” I can! If you don't want to buy the book, his Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor is pretty good to.

2) Join EFF- the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Help support bloggers’ rights: keep the Internet democratic and maintain your right to blog freely and fairly.
