 <description>&lt;p&gt;Today I decided to start a new blog.  Let me tell you a bit about myself.  I am a mother and a wife.  I have a daughter who will be turning 1 January 3rd.  She is the most amazing thing that has happened to me.  However, I did what some women do through out their pregnancy.  Over eat!  I loved food and I figured I was getting fat anyway, that I would give in to any craving that same my way.  Truth was I ended up coming very close to full blown gestational diabetes.  From that point I had to watch my sugar intake.  Then I was retaining a TON of water and began watching my sodium intake.  My last weigh in before the delivery of my little bundle of joy was 207lbs... lets just say that was interesting to see on my little 5&#039;3&quot;   body.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After I lost some of the weight doing absolutely nothing, but YUCK sweating!  I weighed in at 172lbs.  It was depressing.  So the extra weight on top of the postpartum depression I needed a change.  I tried a few times to lose the weight.  I always caved into some goody or fast food.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My friend introduced me to &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.sparkpeople.com&quot; title=&quot;www.sparkpeople.com&quot;&gt;www.sparkpeople.com&lt;/a&gt; and I kinda signed up but it was a few more months before I truly utilized it.  One day I just was ready.  I said that is it!  I want to lose the weight!  So I started tracking my food.  Keeping logs and noting to myself the foods that were high in fat and calories.  I was surprised by what I was consuming!  I couldn&#039;t believe how many calories I could pack away in a day.  I had no idea how to even count calories before this.  I had no idea about what my bmi was or should be.  At that point I was considered  OBESE!  I couldn&#039;t believe it!  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So we mad some changes in my household.  I removed all of our goodies and treats.  Started trying out new recipes.  I got a lot from spark.  It is so fabulous there is a FREE website to help you lose weight and it is structured and helps you hold yourself accountable.  I believe that is the only way you will lose the weight and keep it off.  If someone else is holding you accountable what are you going to do once you lose the weight and no one is there to keep you in line.&lt;br /&gt;
This is a good way to rely on yourself.  You are amazing!  YOU CAN LOSE THE WEIGHT.  I am now down 37 lbs!  I started at a lovely 172 and I am currently at 133lbs!  Smaller than my pre-pregnancy weight.  I haven&#039;t been this small since high school!  Seriously!  It has been about 4 months of actively working out and watching calories.  I love the Leslie Sasone walking videos!  That is all for today.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tip:  I read once a lady put her scale in her kitchen next to her fridge.  Every time she wanted to eat something bad she would step on that scale as a little reminder.  So I did it!  I love it!  I weigh myself whenever I feel I am about to cave into a temptation.&lt;/p&gt;
