How to Organize a Handbag

Every woman has had one of those days where she can't find anything in her handbag. It doesn't seem to matter what size your handbag is, if it isn't organized, you're tempted to just dump everything out on the ground to find what you're looking for. Use some of the following suggestions to help you organize your handbag and to avoid having a "handbag fit."
1
Find a clear counter surface or table to empty out or just dump out the contents of your handbag or purse. Take a good look at all the things that came out of your handbag. If it is trash, throw it away. You don't need all the old grocery lists and gum wrappers, so get rid of them. Open your wallet and throw out the old receipts, and organize your money and credit cards. Wipe out the inside of your handbag and any items that you carry regularly such as your wallet, cell phone and your lipstick.
2
Sort the items on the counter. Put all the cosmetics such as lipstick, lip liner, lip gloss, mirror, makeup compact and your touch up eye cosmetics into one pile. Put your checkbook, pen and notepad in another pile. Examine your wallet to see if you are carrying credit cards that you don't need to carry. Take these out and store these away. Have a small bag that will hold your gum, mints, breath freshener, aspirin, band aids or any other medical type items you might need to always have with you.
3
Use small bags like cosmetic bags to put the various "like" items together. One bag should contain all your cosmetic items that you carry daily in your handbag. Put your checkbook, pen and notepad in another or purchase a small organizer that is an all-in-one to hold your checkbook, pen, notepad, calendar and planner all together. Place your cleaned up and cleaned out wallet back into the pile area.
Start replacing all the organized items back into your handbag. You will have your checkbook organizer, your cosmetics bag and your wallet. In addition, you should have your cell phone, your gum and medical organizer bag. Arrange all of these mini bags down inside your handbag. You might want to work on the interior arrangement until you have the arrangement that works for you. The ideal is to be able to reach inside, immediately pull out the needed item, use, and then replace back into the handbag.
5
Check out the handbag and purse departments for handbag organizers. These are fold-out cloth or plastic pocket organizers that you sort all your items into. Then, you roll these around or fold them to fit down inside your handbag to keep everything in its place instead of shifting around. These are also available at online or Internet stores and websites.
•	Use different colored mini bags to put your various items in for handbag storage. This makes it easier to find the correct mini bag to grab.
