Athena's Mom

I use the blogger name “Athena’s Mom.” The name is a reference to the
fact that in Greek Mythology, the goddess Athena did not have a
mother–if you recall, she emerged fully grown from Zeus’s forehead.
What a perfect name for a virtual persona, then.

More germane to my legal career, the outcome of Aeschylus’s The Eumenides hinged on a jury decision made by Athena.

I find that any topic can be improved upon when talked about
ironically. This throws people who just surf on to my blog. I have
learned, the hard way, that the ‘Thomas Pynchon did it’ excuse does not
hold water. Especially with Grandmothers.

Over the past decade I have worn many hats including humanities
scholar, market researcher, law journal editor, writer, and
attorney-like creature.

In a perfect world, I would be the next Susan Sontag. In this world, I’ll settle for being a beloved blogger.

I live in the New York City area with my Thinkpad and $20 e-bay find Coach bag.
