I twitter from the travel blogging perspective and there is a lot of micro-blogging going on. What's a mash up? I clicked on your hyperlink, but I'm still not clear on the concept. Thanks.

Twitter Newbie

I just signed up - and I enjoy it! I've just left a few messages for my friends, but unlike blogging it's fast and simple. A quick update about dinner, or kids, or books, but nothing more then a couple of simple sentences. It seems especially handy when you want to let people know about life, but dont have time to write or read a full blog post.

I have just started, but we'll see if I find it addicting.

Just Twittering around

Hi Vered,

You are correct that most folk do use it to keep in touch -- and it is a micro-blogging platform. After I typed my original post, I noticed that quite a few bloggers will "advertise" their blog via a tweet -- a teaser with a link back to the blog post.

I have been pondering how to be more innovative using Twitter -- for example, how to integrate twittering with blogging in a more transparent manner.

There are already Twitter mashups (of course). Here I am.

See Your Guide to Micro-Blogging and Twitter for Mark Glaser's excellent overview. Scroll down to the Glossary... My favorite "Twitterverse or Twitosphere: the universe of Twitter users."

Twitter - not really for micro blogging?

I think most people use it just to network/ keep in touch? Not really for micro-blogging. As long as you follow people who interest you, those updates are actually fun. many of them make me smile throughout the day, at times when normally I would be bored or irritated.

Someone did say (write) once that she is going to develop a tweet into a blog post.

Micro-blogging: Do you do it?

I've been following my Twitter friends' tweets. Most really do answer the question "What are you doing?" Honestly, I'm not so interested in 120-word ramblings of daily, mundane "events." (The worse one "I'm tweeting from my bathroom" -- way, way more information than I want to know.)

As active bloggers, is anyone using Twitter to augment their blog posts? If so, can you give an example?

Thanks,
