Photo Art

Greetings. I will be blogging and posting videos on my website and YouTube account in Europe this summer. I will be there photographing portraits of families visiting Europe. Check out my website http://internationalfamilyportraits.com

I also have a blog on www.travelingwithtricia.blogspot.com

Personal note. I just fell in love with art and museums when I visited the Lourve in Paris for the first time. It has been years since I was at a museum and I just in awe. It was very inspirational to see the great masters work and how I can apply those principals to portraits in this era.

Design-Art

Hallo from Bulgaria - this is also Europe:)

I do not know if you would say my blog is of note, but I have a lot of visitors from allover the world and a large part of them from USA. It is the blog where one can always find what is the latest in the world of design. Right now I am following the event that is most talked about - Design Miami/ Basel 2008 and the much discussed at the moment "Design-art" phenomenon. It is true that for most of the not well informed readers the titles Design Miami/ Basel 2008 are connected with what Brad Pitt spent there, but I think that this is a theme that reflects quite well the current situation in the fiiled of design. The discussion 'Is design art?' is not new, but it is for the first time now that design products are sold at auctions and for a good price, too.

Outside the US

Thanks for sharing these great art and design blogs! I'm a Canadian art blogger, not a European one, but I'm not in the US, so I thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity to tout my own blog!

The Earthly Paradise is about art history in general, with a special focus on the Pre-Raphaelites and Arts and Crafts Movement (though lately I've been chronicling my latest trip to Paris). I write regularly about architecture and the decorative arts as well.

Dont know about Europe...how about South Africa?

Here are the blogs of two of my friends who are very successful design bloggers in South Africa. Heather and Jesse both create beautyful hand made products that they sell on their etsy stores.

Heather Moor at Skinny Malinx

Jesse at jezzeblog

I also blog about art...

Art Blogs of Note from Europe and Beyond

Wondering what the art blogging scene looks like outside of the United States? Some of the loveliest art and design blogs make their bricks and mortar homes in faraway places I'd love to visit someday. Here's a virtual tour of the very blogs you'll want to add to the art and design tab on your reader before the next post comes around.

Dreamer Girl Netherlands Silvia (aka Dreamer Girl) writes of everyday matters with the perspective of a painter and the soul of a muse. Ethereal photographs adorn her pages along with quotes from the likes of Mary Oliver, personal poet to artists everywhere. If you like the feel and texture of Chronicles of Me, you'll especially enjoy this dreamer girl's blog.

Belle and Boo United Kingdom. Formerly of MillyMollyMandy, this Britain-based blog captures the calm of a newborn nursery and the whimsy of A.A. Milne's Christopher Robin and company. A perfect blend of art and photography, this blog manages to capture a serious sense of place while not neglecting updates on current illustration projects--both of which are delightful. Don't miss the Etsy shop.

iHanna (Sweden). Hanna is the maven of all things arts and crafts on the web. Her love of fiber and textiles makes for happy browsing, and her Link Love page will send you out and about to the finest arts and crafts blogs in Europe and behind. Don't miss her shop here.

Irene Nam (France). Over the years, Irene Nam has scaled back her blog to the bare essentials, but I promise if you are not a fan already, you won't be disappointed. Her daily photographs generate their own special calm, and Irene's unique experience as a mother of twins gives her pages double the delight.

Who do you love to read when you need a little art and design inspiration from a faraway place? Are you an art and design blogger creating a bit of beauty across the pond? Leave us your url in the comments below.
