This is so timely for me! I've joined blogher to find women reviewing gadgets - and there's so many technology blogs, it's a bit overwhelming.

We've started a gadget/technology review site for women, by women - so please come and have a look!

We built it in a hurry, as a concept - and now we've already reached the stage where we need to redesign it, properly. I think there's more women out there who want this sort of content - if only the big electronics/media groups would realise!

Thinking about some new gadget for yourself or as a gift? Looking for information or ideas about a gadget? If you're a dude, you might head for Boing Boing for some male perspective and reviews on gadgets. But if you're a dudette, where are you going to look for the female perspective on gadgets?

I know! I know! The BlogHer blogroll contains a large number of helpful female perpective sites for the gadget seeker. Let's check some of them out.

At Geek Sugar, you learn that Geek is chic while you read about technology, gadgets, and how tos. Recent articles include Capture Fireworks like a Pro with These Tips and Key to Success Pouch: Love it or Leave it, where I (and 70% of the voters) said to leave it!

Popgadget: Personal Tech for Women is another source of gadget help and reviews. Recent samples include Software to go if you must work while on holiday which includes the advice to carry sunscreen. Another recent offering is Eco-friendly packaging made of potato starch for 3G iPhone describing the new iPhone packaging. Apple is still the least eco-friendly of the computer manufactureres, but every little bit helps.

A related site is Babygadget, where you can learn about all sorts of things for tots including furniture, toys, and books/media. A recent article described New designs for your Funky Little Darlings about mural designs that are so cute they almost make you want to have a a baby. Babygadget includes finds for moms, too, such as this book review: My Mother Wears Combat Boots: A Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us.

ThinkGeek has toys, gadgets, and more, including clothing. How about a tee shirt that detects wi-fi signals and displays the signal strength in bars on the shirt?
Wi-Fi Detector Shirt tells you all about it. I want one. NOW. I think the recently reviewed USB Digital Microscope is pretty cool, too. I don't have much use for a microscope but I love them anyway. I recently looked at my skin under a big magnifying glass at the local science museum. Eeew. I don't want a microscope that will allow even one look at my skin, but small creepy things are interesting.

infodoodads has articles on software, social networking, photography, fashion and more. Pixsta: visualize your shopping describes a visual shopping search tool. Another article reviews Whiteboard an online collaboration tool. There is a constant barrage of new software and online tools. It's nice to find a place that helps you separate the good stuff from the junk.

Pretty Gadgets: Gadgets for Girls doesn't post very often, but has posted consistently since 2006. You can learn about Toast Stamper and just about any gadget available in pink, such as Intempo GPS Buddy. Pink. Pretty Gadgets was quick to point out that the iPhone is not yet available in pink.

Gadgenista is another pink-minded blog, where they promise information about geeky girls, pink gadgets, fashion, and cool accessories. Recent articles include Plurk Your Life Away: Twitter is SO OUT! and Gadgenista Review: White Sony DSC T70 - The Camera That Blogging Bought! The very pink advice from Gadgenista must be finding an audience, because it brought in enough money to splurge on a camera.

Techie Diva talks about gadgets but also explands into articles about style, tradeshows, trends, and other tech topics. You can find reviews of Motion Tablet PC and the Kensington Laptop Case, which somehow manages to look a whole lot like a purse instead of a laptop case.
