Yesterday I sent an email to my friends, Dave and Dee Dix. An invite to have lunch turned into a political commentary. I find myself so damned amusing and clever sometimes! So I share the prose here to see if anyone else does. Bon appetit!

Would love to get together for some time on Weds July 9th
and would especially love to host said gathering on my prided Sun Porch
especially since the possibility lingers that I will have to relinquish access
to it in the near future.

So I am thinking of a luncheon coffee/tea of sorts. Whilst I am not the culinary creator and
presenter that our lovely Dee is, I think that I can present some sort of
quiche offering (it occurs to me with the mention of such phrase, that here
perhaps lies an explanation of George Dubya’s lousy diplomacy – in that being a
“macho cowboy” (which I must sidetrack here to say that I think the whole cowboy
image is a mere myth residing in Dubya’s mind as a result of having spent too
much time playing on his toy ranch in Texas), but at any rate, being a cowboy
requires that he ascribe to the outmoded belief that: “Real Men Don’t Eat
Quiche”. If only somebody could teach
him that Real Men don’t make war,
don’t lie or cheat, don’t pretend to be something that they are not (i.e.
presidential or a salt of the earth, rancher), but Real Men most certainly do graciously eat quiche when it is being
served and are most definitely disposed to proffer it themselves on occasion.

Pardon my digress, seriously, might we convene at eleven
thirtyish at 333 Oxford Rd
on Wednesday, July the 9th?

P.S. The lunch date is on - anyone have a good quiche recipe?
