Well, but I'm really, really over it.

I know that it's really too much to ask to expect anyone to believe me, but we broke up 3 times. It's done; moving on. My ex and I are working on a film project together and we go out for coffee and movies. It couldn't possibly feel more platonic unless he was my brother.

You're right, 3 months isn't that long a time, but it also seems silly to wait for no good reason. That said, getting proactive about dating is something I don't really have time for until September, plus I'm waiting something else out for a bit, so I guess it's win win. ;)

Cleansing Out The Past

Three months truly isnt long time, not to date. It gives you time to clear your head from being in love with the last person you was with. Its actually good to do that instead of jumping from one guy to the next. That way when you do decide to go date your heart will have cleanse out,and you want have any baggage to carry around. I''m talking for experience to.I use to be that girl, who would invest time into men and never give herself them to heal. Now I give myself time to heal before even thinking about another man. Trial and Error always helps. An Phenomenal Woman Can Onli be Real

Internal stuff jettisoned!

Sometimes it's just totally over when it's over, you know? I had lunch with the hunky actor on Sunday, and it was good. Fun even.

So it's not about handling pain by seeking pleasure - It's just about seeking pleasure. :)

But yeah, I'm focusing on just living for now. I'm just jonesing for some fun. ;)

Relaaaaaaaaaaaaax

Liz m'dear -- in the larger scheme of things, 3 months is not so very long at all. You were deeply invested in your last guy, so maybe some time to unfurl all of that internal "stuff" would help. Sometimes it isn't so helpful to handle pain by tossing supposed pleasure at it -- sometimes, as you said, it is right to let things just flow. Trust that instinct, and I am betting that fun will follow.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Did I really wait around for three months last time before I started dating again??? That feels like a lifetime!

But I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. There's this "true to my heart" resolution that's tripping me right up. My heart asks for a little more patience, a little less action.

A little more time before I flip the switch to "actively seeking." A little more time spent in the space where I find myself, just to see what happens when I let things be and flow as they will. See what comes to me if I just stand under the plum tree enjoying the shade, as opposed to shaking it or going for a climb.

But... Dates! Romance! Kissing! I grow quickly impatient. Summer feels long and frustrating.

Tell me somebody's having some romantic fun this summer! I actually woke up the other day and wrote a poem about sex. Seriously, it's never good when I'm writing poetry.

Well, Sharlene Witt from Life of Sharlene calls a fun date going FISHING:

So I said to Mac- yeah fishing is pretty cool cuz its relaxing and we’ve had good conversations but it wasn't really that exciting, you have to go fishing a lot in order to have balance of days that you don’t get anything with the exciting moments of when you do. Right as I was saying that I was reeling in, almost no hope of catching anything…

Savannah Olive tells about A Hard Day's Night, and how much do I love this:

Last week I went on a fun date. My roommates and I decided we needed to go on a roommate date, so we roped our neighbor Becky into joining us and we all asked guys out. We were going to go to the lake and have a bonfire and make s'mores. However, the weather turned cold and windy that evening, so we stayed at our apartment. We made s'mores and roasted Starburst over our gas stove. Then we played some fun games and enjoyed each other's company. We played Nurtz, and my date and I totally rocked it - we beat everyone! It was great!

Her post is full of fun stuff from her week, and her blog is a wonderful shade of green. Olive, even.

Becky Lin went on a totally radical first date:

yes, my shirt has flowers painted on with jewels & pearls surrounded in glittery puffy-paint! you can also see my amazing pants that also have a matching jacket that you can see in the next picture along with my french braid & scrunchy! my poofy bangs were ok, but they're too long, so they went flat really quick! oh and btw... did i mention this was a BLIND DATE? the first time i met the guy i looked like this! ha ha! it was awesome!

Man, the 80s rocked so hard. And how awesome is Becky for doing the costumed first date? Love. It.

The Henson Family had a Date Night including hitting the betting cages in heels. (The female half of the family anyway!)

Chad and Sarah hit Color Me Mine.

The Andersons had Date Night with The Porter's involving some nice pics of tulips.

Amanda from Manda's Moments celebrated 7 Years with her husband. Loved the wedding day pic with the current pic.

And Rachel from Rococo Mocco blogged about Our LAST Date night! (before the baby)

So I suppose that I could read about everyone else's great, fun, romantic times and feel worse, but instead it makes me feel happy and hopeful and open. Surely fun romantic times are coming!

Guess I'll just hang out under the plums for a while. Enjoying the shade.
