You're so right that body image issues are often passed from one generation to the next and mothers especially need to be conscious of the examples they set, how they view their own bodies, so their daughters can grow up without that scourge of "body hate."

I've often stopped by Mama Vision and was always impressed by your commitment and common sense. Keep up the great work.

This was a fantastic interview. I've never seen How to Look Good Naked--but I'll definitely check it out. I loved what Kelly said about her body being a "badge of honor." Knowing that at least one show focuses on self-esteem instead of diets makes me hopeful that, someday, the prevalent messages in the media about our bodies will be positive.

I adore this show (and Carson, he's always so funny) and Kelly is a woman that I can aspire to be like, which is always a great reason to tune in!
Thanks for highlighting this series and this woman!

I've also started a campaign about women's beauty in magazines - I think there are a lot of similarities between the values in this show and the what I'm hoping comes of the campaign! It can be found at thepoint.com.

when i turned 40, i made peace w/ the fact that i will always have large hips. so now i just relax and enjoy my food. the ideals out there are so unattainable - i love the idea that people like kim kardashian are now being considered beautiful. and those are some hips!

Hate your body? Can't bear to look in the mirror? If your answers are yes, stop right where you are and listen to this podcast interview I did last week with Kelly Park.

Kelly, a married Mom of a 10 year old daughter was featured on this season's premiere episode of Lifetime's reality television show, "How To Look Good Naked," hosted by Carson Kressley. "HTLGN" takes a woman who hates her body and shows her that a large part of her problem may just be her perception of how she looks rather than how she really looks.

If you watch the "HTLGN" episode featuring Kelly on the Lifetime website---take special note of that DKNY black and white sundress we talk about during the podcast.

As someone who's had body image issues most of my life, I was inspired by Kelly's story and I think you will be too.
