Solar Recover protects my hair, skin and lips

Usually, by this point in the summer, my hair is a small nest of dried fuzz, my lips are cracked and dry and, though I try to be responsible with the sun block, I've had to deal with the after effects of at least one sunburn. But this year I've been luckier, thanks to this great, totally natural line of sun care products.

A friend of mine has been working at Solar Recover for a while and was good enough to slip me a set of their products. Available in health food stores as well as on their site, Solar Recover has a terrific line of great smelling products that have worked wonders to save my skin and hair - and their lip balm is fabulous too. Made with quality ingredients like distilled water, natural vitamin E, avacado oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, calendula, lavender oil, and lemon grass oil, I fell for the Save Your Hair spritz first. It smells so good, but isn't scented too heavily and really does a good job of returning my hair to its pre-beach condition. It leaves my (admitedly short) hair smelling fresh and looking smooth and has a great reputation for de-frizzing and de-tangling.

Save Your Skin has been a life saver after those few times my shoulders have accidentally gotten burnt. It's almost magical in the way it seems to heal a sunburn and is so much nicer to use than those medicinal smelling aerosols. It applies the finest mist on my skin, is softly scented with lavender and geranium oil, and I've never peeled after I use it. It's natural ingredients have been tested (on humans only!) time and time again to ensure the gentlest formula.

My mom can vouch for their Hydrating Cream - she has the driest skin in the world and raves about this moisturizer. Vitamins E and C boost the antioxident properties of this little tub of heaven and mom says her feet and hands have benifitted tremendously.

Two kinds of salt (those of you who read my blog know how I feel about salt!) vitamins and essential oils pack a nice punch in Solar Recover's Salt Body Exfolliator, and who couldn't use some exfolliating before winter sets in?

Finally, Save Your Lips, has got to be one of my all-time favorite lip balms. "The challenge: to create the easiest gliding, most moist, least waxy and of course all natural lip balm on the market. If that couldn't have been accomplished we wouldn't have gone ahead with the project." Mission accomplished! Save your lips goes on like melted butter, is never waxy or heavy feeling and stays on for hours.

I don't usually care for all the products in a single line, but Solar Recover has changed my mind - and I'm looking forward to spritzing some in my hair when the weather turns cold so I remember my great days at the beach this summer.

Solar Recover products are priced between $3.00 and $21.00.
