Really curious on your thoughts about McCain's VP pick

A number of people have argued that McCain should pick a woman to counter Obama's diversity appeal. Othars tout Huckabee for his attractiveness to the religious right. What do you think McCain's key considerations should be in picking a running mate?

Veepstakes Talk

This is the week, or so all the whispering says. Obama's pick seems more imminent than McCain's and, as such, is getting all the press today.

Word is Joe Biden is the front-runner. Sister Toldjah looks back at what Biden was saying about presidential qualifications when he was running for president in '88:

”The White House isn’t the place to learn how to deal with
international crisis, the balance of power, war and peace, and the
economic future of the next generation. A President has got to know the
territory, but that’s not enough.”

Oh, what fun the RNC will have with that quote. And, what fun I'll have watching Biden on the trail. I hope he's the pick for pure entertainment value.

E.M. Zanotti favors a little Perez Hilton PR for Obama's pick:

My question is, if its Clooney Obama wants, why not make him the Vice
Presidential nominee? Half the reason McCain is riding a wave of
recognition is because he got Paris Hilton to talk about him on the
Internet; having a celebrity Veep is a sure winner of a strategy.

Like candidate, like veep pick. Kathryn Jean Lopez remembers Joe Biden's attacks on Clarence Thomas in '91.

And, is McCain preparing to thumb his nose at conservatives....again? Surely not. If McCain managed to get this far in this campaign keeping things even with Obama, and even pulling ahead in the electoral college count this week, and managed to torpedo it all by picking a pro-choice VP, well...well, that'd be...just like McCain.

Oughtta be an interesting week. Stay tuned.
