I've been wanting to taste it for ages though! I've never seen it for sale anywhere in Utah. (Making a mental note of it for traveling though!)

That's a toughie, but I'd have to say burrata cheese. If you've had it once, no doubt, you'll want it again and again. Soft, creamy, fresh mozzarella with more cream in the center. It's sensual, luscious, and totally decadent. It will change your life.

I think it's interesting that you've tried about the same number of things on both lists. (And I would not eat road kill either, plus several other things on the lists as well!)

I love the lists.

I went down the omnivore list first. and I got 51. Then I went down the vegan list and I got 52.

So now I am not in any hurry to eat roadkill. I was curious about other meals that I haven't tried.

I just love the possibilities. Not the roadkill, of coarse, but the many thing my lil head couldn't grasp unless it was shown in a magazine or cookbook. lol

thank you

66 if we can substitute Alligator for crocodile !

I still think the worst one on the list I have tried is the baijiu. I still get a burning sensation on my tongue just thinking of it!

Fun list!

I'm fascinated by the way people love testing themselves on the list. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who's eaten more than half these things is doing pretty well. And Vered, I agree it's encouraging that more people have had oysters than a Big Mac, although I've eaten plenty of Big Macs in my younger days!

This was so much fun! I got a score of 83 but only because I force myself to try really exotic stuff – like McDonald's Big Mac meals, ollieberry wine (not made from grapes), and peanut butter sandwiches.

My additions: tongue, chaat, deep fried oreo cookies, boar jerky, ostrich eggs, and tripe

My husband and I had fun with it, and of course everyone will have their own personal list of things to include. Making lists like this is a good exercise across many areas. My husband and I each have lists of things we want to do at some point in our lives, though his list includes things like becoming an astronaut...

Have You Eaten the 100 Foods Every Omnivore (or Vegan) Should Try?

Everyone loves lists, and currently food bloggers around the world are rushing to post one. Bloggers by the droves are talking about The Omnivore's Hundred, a meme created by Andrew at Very Good Taste which suggests 100 foods every omnivore should try. And now there's a Vegan Hundred too, created by Hannah from Bittersweet.

I decided the lists were too long to copy here, but here's what to do if you'd like to play along. Choose whether you want to test your foodie credibility on the Omnivore's list or the Vegan list, and then follow these instructions from Very Good Taste:

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
4) (optional) Post a comment linking to your results.

Obviously the Omnivores got a big head start on this, but at the time of this post, 596 omnivores have added comments on the original list of The Omnivore's Hundred, while 57 vegans have reported how many things they've tried of The Vegan Hundred. The Omnivore's List has received so much scrutiny as to why certain things are included, that Andrew has even posted FAQ's About the Omnivore's Hundred.

One interesting thing to notice here is how many foods made it on both lists, things like heirloom tomatoes, Baba Ghanoush, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, black truffle, root beer floats, and fruit wine made with something other than grapes. Each list also has some rather improbable choices, such as Big Mac Meal on the Omnivore's list and fast food french fries on the vegan list. Now that the lists have been circulating for a few weeks, bloggers are starting to propose their own additions too.

If you were making a list of 100 foods everyone should absolutely try, what would be the one food at the very top of your list?

Kalyn Denny writes about food and at BlogHer.com and shares her passion for cooking at Kalyn's Kitchen. Kalyn admits she's tried less than half the foods listed on the Omnivore's Hundred, but her own list of Must-Try Foods would definitely include Slow Roasted Tomatoes.
