Kenley should have been gone a long time ago. Maybe they think bitchiness is good TV?

Yes, the twist thing is getting out of hand. I want then just to go head and give it to Korto.

Disappointing...all of it

The Final Four all creating collections is one in a long line of disappoints for me during this season of PR. Last season it worked because you knew that the judges wanted to ax Chris but the guest judge raved all about his designs so you know that is why Chris' score was high enough to let him stay for another round. Sadly, he didn't make to Bryant Park. A shame because I wanted to see the rest of what he did with those hair extensions!

This season, well, it's all full of wacky decisions more than normal and some just silly. I hope Lifetime doesn't follow in Season 5's footsteps next season!

Why don't decorating and DIY projects always work out like they do on TV? Condo Blues http://condo-blues.blogspot.com/

Kenley Should Have Been Toast

Not just because she's obnoxious---trolling around on a tugboat your whole childhood will do that to you apparently---but because she's been coasting the last three weeks. She should have been dumped last week because of that "oh, so not hip hop outfit," and this week she was just an unholy pill.

I was kinda frustrated the judges were so polite with her considering she even dissed Heidi. And she'll never get back into my good graces after back talking Tim Gunn a couple of weeks ago.

So hopefully she'll come up with more scaly mermaids in her collection and finally get tossed out on her little tugboat keister.

The Phantom Designer...

I hate the use of the phantom designer. It worked the first time because nobody expected it. But we should know that at least one of them has made it into the tent (it would be the winner Jerrell). And the elimination should in part be based upon the hot messes they threw on the runway this week.

This year the actual show was live twittered, so it's not that hard (still) to know who's going to be in the big tent. Just eliminate one and let us concentrate on the three going all the way.

Please.

Better late than never...again: Project Runway recap: The Final Four

Isn't this "twist" getting a little less twisty each season it happens? (Spoiler alert, obviously)

Oh, the humanity. To be in a place so remote, so primitive, that they do not have Bravo in their hotel rooms? Yes, that was my fate these past four days. To be in such a place. Sitting in a room, knowing Project Runway was on, but that I could not access it. Tragic!

But I've gotten past it, thanks to Tivo.

What I haven't gotten past is that once again the Project Runway producers decided to be namby pamby. OK, we already are hip to the "decoy" designer shows at Fashion Week. Each season there are more and more of them. But what is the point of winning the final four challenge if you don't get straight to the finals? And what is the point of repeating about a million times, "one of you will be out" and then wussing out on it? Really, it's not that hard.

OK, now that I've gotten that out of my system...

This week's episode started with Jerell being hilariously lonely and pulling a Tom Hanks in Castaway, but with citrus fruit instead of a ball. We also learn that Kenley blames Leann for not "selling" her outfit on the runway, instead of realizing that thing was horrific.

And in case you were wondering, yes, all the other designers really don't like Kenley, and the feeling is mutual.

This week's challenge sounds fun: the designers are taken to the NY Botanical Gardens (a spectacular place) and given an hour to snap pictures of potential inspirations for a gown inspired by nature.

Thus far the designers this season have always actually done their worst when they had the most freedom and leeway to really innovate. So, will they pull it out this week? Don't count on it...they're too busy crying and talking about how bad they want it, as though that's a criteria that comes into play.

Oh, the drama!

Kenley forgot her tulle at Mood, but she gets to retrieve it.

Kenley was a misfit, whine whine. And exhibits a complete lack of self-awareness or willingness to self-examine.
Korto misses her kids, whine whine.
Jerell just wants to whine whine.

You get the picture.

Let's just get to the runway shall we? You can check out pictures of all the outfits at Bravo.com.

1. Korto was inspired by a tall orange flower (I'm no botanist, sorry!)
Her gown is orange and apricot, like her inspirational flower, but much heavier on the apricot than the orange...which I think is a mistake. There's a halter with a deep plunging v-neck, inappropriate lace trim, and an orange train. It's not a bad silhouette and has a flattering fit (despite some puckery seams), but it's also not the least bit creative, innovative or really even that pretty. If she was going to go for color she should have emphasized the bolder orange over the muted apricot.

2. Leanne was inspired by lavender flowers
Leanne created a one-shouldered Grecian goddess type dress with many of her little folded gewgaws swooping down the bodice and across the hips. So far so good when looking at the front (although, again, some puckery seams). But then the model turned, and we saw a very bad choice...those folded ruffles continuing right under the butt. And a shock of deeper purple chiffon emerging from the center of that ruffle. Yes, more pooping of fabric! I just wouldn't have predicted that to be the latest trend that the PR designers would try to set!

3. Jerell was inspired by a bunch of deeply colored roses
Jerell's dress was certainly the most intriguing, as the guest judge called it, but I wouldn't call it entirely successful. I pretty much loved the plum taffeta over dress, including the strapless empire bodice with mondo-sized sequins on it and the split top skirt. But what peeked out from the front of that split top skirt was a shock of red fabric and a shock of green sparkly fabric...and those fabric choices seem a bit random and unfinished.

4. Kenley was inspired by some fuchsia flowers
And created a totally cliche Morticia Adams dress made of a fuchsia snakeskin print fabric. It's sort of a mermaid style, all skin tight until the knees, and then pouffed out with layers of fabric "petals", bordered with satin strips. It was very costume-y, reminding me of the plant in Little Shop of Horrors, more than anything.

So, the judges didn't love any of them, but they really disliked Korto's (pageant-y) and Kenley's (cliched), and had more appreciation for LeAnn's (except the butt travesty) and Jerell's (except the unfinished looking aspects of the skirt).

They ask each designer why they should move forward (hint: they all really really want it) and who they would bring with them. Everyone but Kenley sticks together, and since she can't say she wants to go forward alone, she picks Jerell and LeAnn. Tears and recriminations will later ensue, complete with Kenley refusing to join a group hug instigated by Tim (I'm sure the other three designers didn't actually mind that she sat out.)

Then, just like last year, the judges claim it is just too hard to eliminate someone (really, no, it isn't...eliminate Kenley, there, see how easy that was?) But instead of picking a top two and making the bottom two compete against each other for the final Bryant Park slot, they tell them that all four will have to go, make a collection, bring it back, and compete for the BP runway show.

So, oh yeah, Jerell actually wins the challenge, but it's meaningless, because he too will have to compete.

And that my friends, is not fair, and not how it should work. IMHO.

But what did you think?
