Yeah, interesting how Pakistan would take it the wrong way too. Guess he really needs to be more careful, huh?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- Pakistan criticized U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama on Friday for saying that, if elected, he might order unilateral military strikes against terrorists hiding in this Islamic country.

I agree with you Kimberly. Mc Cain's 'digs' and basic misrepresentations of what Obama really said really turned me off. I thought Obama came across as having a bit more character. I bet he doesn't joke with his friends about bombing Iran either. I thought Obama's plan on healthcare was clear despite the folks interviewed in Ohio by ABC not thinking so. They didn't seem to have a lot new to say and probably won't from here on out so how they handle themselves becomes really important.

Both Men Did a Good Job, but Obama Now Has My Vote

I watched the debates tonight and I thought that both candidates did a good job. I would feel confident with either of them as president. (Now, their VP picks...that's another story.)

Anyway, for the first time I felt really confident in my Obama/Biden pick. (Previously, I was still a little hesitant due to Obama's lack of extensive experience.) Truthfully, (in my opinion) no one person is truly"qualified" to be president until they do the job. So, it boils down to character and positions on policy.

I was really disappointed with the manner in which Senator McCain conducted himself. Referring to Obama as "that one"/ refusing to shake his hand at the end of the debate/ etc. - what poor sportsmanship!

As far as where they stand on various things, I just tend to side more with the Obama/Biden ticket ESPECIALLY when it comes to health coverage - I also see it as a "right" in a great country like ours.

LOL. Yes, Obama does say "look" a lot. But I associate "look" with informal speech and "my friends" with stuff like "my fellow Americans." It kind of dates McCain.

But, "look" could stand to be weeded out.

"Obama wants to give everyone healthcare and McCain wants to give everyone a house," said Alex Castellanos, a Republican media consultant on CNN. He wondered how is a country that's broke going to do that. LOL. He and Bennett said Obama won the debate.

Join BlogHer.com as we live-blog tonight's second presidential debate of Election 2008. Talk about timing -- the same day that the Dow Jones Industrial average fell 508.39 points, "the blue-chip index's worst five-day point loss ever," reports Cindy Perman, presidential candidates John McCain (R-Az.) and Barack Obama (D-Il.) will answer questions at a town hall meeting in Nashville, Tennessee.

Joining both senators on stage at Belmont University will be 80 undecided voters, including BlogHer Lindsay Ferrier of Suburban Turmoil. Don't miss her post, Mired in the Middle. She blogs,

"Right about now, everyone, it seems, has taken sides. The Obama supporters are waaaay over there, to my left. The McCain supporters are waaaay over there, to my right. Each side seems to loathe the other. I'm stuck in the center, attracted to and repelled by both extremes, and sort of wishing we could all just get along. "

Lindsay may have something with that phrase, "repelled" -- Frank Newport of Gallup today reported a dubious first in the poll's history (see in bold below):

"Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain are set to meet for the second presidential debate in Nashville Tuesday night at a time when only 9% of Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the United States -- the lowest such reading in Gallup Poll history..."
