I've actually lost a friend over the "you can read all about me on my blog" comment. She took it to mean "Hey, I don't care much about hearing from YOU but if you want to know about ME, read my blog." Not my intention, but she has not responded to my cards or emails for nearly 9 months.

Golly some people are just *so* sensitive and *so* stuck in the dark ages.

last year and said, "sorry I don't email you often, but really.. you can read all about my life on my blog." Thought I'd be making it easy on them.

My sister in law responded with that "sour pickle" tone in her email: I communicate with friends I personally know.. and haven't the faintest idea why you want strangers to know about your life! She refuses to read my blogs!! Such a 20th century attitude. blech!

Like e-mailing friends who rarely check the blog (because they actually talk to me PLENTY in real life)to tell them about the "story I think is kind of funny" that I just posted? Blah! It's nice to know I can chalk it up to dorkiness as opposed to extreme blog narcissism. Or can I????? Because most people don't even know what a blog is, when someone is telling a story of something that's happened to them I will chime in with, "oh I know all about that. The same thing happened to my friend in California/Houston/Virginia (wherever) and this is what they did...blah, blah." Sadly, I have never met ANY of these people. I just read them everyday and their daily lives become important to me...they have become my friends.

Mrs. Kennedy from Fussy is not alone in her massive, unyeilding dorkitude. Oh hells no.

Though we all may be loathe to admit it, if you've been blogging for any length of time you most certainly have a Blog Dork skeleton or two lurking in a closet somewhere (or, in the case of Mrs. Kennedy, bolted to the rear-end of your car). And ladies, I for one think its high time we out ourselves (oh c'mon, it'll be fun! Really!), because being a Blog Dork should not be something we have to hide (unlike being a fan of Bill O'Reilly, or a lover of all things Paris Hilton... please keep that shit to yourself, m'kay?). I AM NOT AN ANIMAL, I AM A HUUUUUMAN BEEEEEING!

Okay, I'll go first! Ready?

Significant blog-related dorkitude I've engaged in:

1. Attended MULTIPLE local blogger gatherings (this should be filed under "glutton for punishment").
2. Printed up "blog business cards" TWICE (the new ones are professionally printed, unlike the first batch which were lame inkjet printer cards... But I think its safe to say the fact that I've now gone so far as to pay to have professionals print up blogcards for me scores me AMPLE Blog Dork points).
3. Made blog logo-type T-Shirts and sold them on my site.
4. Okay, fine, I'll admit it: I read ProBlogger and The Blog Herald. DORK!
5. I have uttered the word "Blogosphere" (if reluctantly).
6. Oh Statcounter, I love you. No, wait -- I HATE YOU! Awww, c'mere ya big lug...

Yes, the truth hurts. BUT THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE!
