Easy Baked Brie

I'll be taking my Easy Baked Brie to my Daughters for Thanksgiving.

1 Round of Brie Cheese

Brown Sugar

Slivered Almonds (skin on is pretty)

Carefully make a slim slice off the top of the round of Brie (just enough to remove the "paper". Pack some Brown Sugar onto the top of the cheese round. Decorate with the almond slivers. Heat in the oven just until the brown sugar begins to melt. Serve with slices of French Bread from a small slender baguette or serve with crackers.

Thanksgiving Appetizers: Easy Recipes to Start

How long is your Thanksgiving to-do list? Mine too. So let's get to the point. The turkey's covered. The vegetable recipes are set. (Hmm, russets or Yukons for mashed potatoes?) Someone's bringing pie. But what about the appetizers, those small bites that stave off the hunger until Thanksgiving dinner itself? Here are five quick make-ahead recipes, ones that will wow your guests but not distract from the kitchen <strike>confusion</strike> activity.

Something Dippable ~ Smoked Tuna Dip from Pinch My Salt
Something Cheesy ~ Curried Cheese Ball from Big Red Kitchen
Something Nutty ~ Toasted Pecans with Thyme from A Yankee in a Southern Kitchen
Something Hot ~ Simply Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms from Green Lite Bites
Something Fruity ~ Cranberry Caramelized Cheese Spread from Recipe Girl

Is there a quick appetizer in your repertoire that's perfect for Thanksgiving? Leave a link in the comments, leave a recipe in the comments.

Excuse me now, I'm off to dry bread cubes for stuffing. And make applesauce. And make pastry for pie crusts. And a big pot of soup for eating during all the cooking. And. And. And. Quick, quick, you too.

BlogHer food editor Alanna Kellogg plans to warm up cheese puffs already (whew!) in the freezer.
