Thanks so much for this Melanie!!! Now to figure out how many I can get away with attending (ie. affordability, time away from kids, etc.). I so appreciate having a schedule for planning for the year :) Like Virginia, I'll be printing out and hanging in my office...

DrupalCon

Since the Wordpress conference is mentioned, I thought I'd toss in DrupalCon, which is happening in Washington DC from March 4-7.

DrupalCon is the official Drupal unconference that attracts the most talented open source developers and innovative web shops in the world and brings them together to share knowledge, make decisions on the future of Drupal, and get to know each other in person.

It's also the premiere opportunity for Drupal users to learn what they can do with Drupal, find partners for future projects, and meet the people behind the code.

In this agenda you can see what the conference will focus on, and as you can see it's designed for both developers and Drupal users. The first three days of the conference will be about learning, while the last day will be about doing - that's when we'll all work together to push code and documentation forward.

DrupalCon is a volunteer run, nonprofit conference.

http://dc2009.drupalcon.org

List of 2009 Blogging Conferences: Something for Everyone!

Bloggers love to come together to network and learn from each other. Conferences give us the opportunity to do just that and there is no shortage of blogging conferences for 2009. I've compiled a list (by no means complete--there are too many opportunities to list!) of conferences that cater to beginning, intermediate, and advanced bloggers. International? I didn't forget you! This list includes information on conferences in the United States, Canada, India, Italy, and England.

Unless otherwise noted, the description of a conference came directly from that conference's web site. Social Media also has a list of blogging conferences.

June 6-7; Chicago, IL
WordCamp is a conference organized by the creators of WordPress for our users and developers.

Web Content: Chicago
June 15-16; Chicago, IL
Consumers are flooded with an increasing amount of information -- most of it irrelevant noise -- created and delivered using outdated tactics that fail to provide maximum return on investment in the Internet age. Poorly-targeted sales pitches and mass market messaging are being replaced by laser-targeted -- and measurable -- content delivery methods that promise to deliver the right information, to the right people, at the right time, in the right format and language. But, getting started requires a new approach and some new ways of thinking. That's why we're bringing together a wide variety of nationally-recognized technology, design, content, and marketing authorities at Web Content 2009 Chicago, June 15-16, at Gleacher Executive Conference Center, to help you better understand how organizations around the globe are “Delivering Personalized Dynamic Web Content”. The Call for Presentations is open.

Blogging While Brown
June 19-21; Chicago, IL
The purpose of Blogging While Brown is to give Bloggers of Color an opportunity to meet each other for the first time, discuss current issues affecting Bloggers of Color, and learn about the latest technology that will assist them with publishing their work.
Disclosure: BlogHer is a sponsor or media partner of this event

July

BlogHer
July 23-25; Chicago, IL
Building on the momentum of four consecutive sold-out annual conferences, BlogHer '09 will bring bloggers from every corner of the blogosphere together for hands-on learning, rich discussions, opportunities to meet with the brands that support them and plentiful networking opportunities. BlogHer ’09 will take place on July 23-25, bringing over one thousand attendees together to celebrate 2009’s theme: “In Real Life.”

August

Affiliate Summit
August 9-11; New York City
This three-day conference includes an exhibit hall with affiliate merchants, vendors, and networks, as well as multiple tracks of educational sessions covering the latest trends and information from affiliate marketing experts.

September

New Marketing Summit
September 30-October 1; Foxboro, MA
The Summit is designed with the client and the service provider in mind. Sessions and presentations are highly interactive so marketing executives from the client side - medium and large businesses, public relations managers - will find valuable ideas and action-oriented information. On the agency side we will help you build out the practices better, engage the customer and their communities more, and gain a much deeper understanding of where marketing is headed and how best to position yourself, and your clients for this changing world.

October

Blog World & New Media Expo
October 15-17; Las Vegas, NV
