Hi there....like many here, I want to increase the people who see my blog - but being about gluten free food its a little bit niche....any comments would be welcome!

Also, for Babybeatnik - I would reccomend Blogging for Dummies as it completely dispells all the techie jargon and really helped me to understand it all!

A lot of people mentioned the logo. I don't think we want ads, per say, I think we just want a button to show our support. I do. The ad thing was not as cut and dry as I thought it would be and there was a great deal of mix up with replies to emails sent, yet I still get update emails. NOT really what I had in mind... the ease of use isn't there, but I still want to show support for blogher. A button would be great.

I'm new to blogging as well, this is a great post!

I'm excited to read more about getting more readers. How do I track who is coming to my blog and I once saw on a blog a list of the "top commenters" on a blog, how do I get one of those? Think it's a good idea? Do you think contest are a good idea to help get more readers?

I'm blogging about my journey toward motherhood and I'm always looking for feedback from moms and since most people are moms I think I could learn so much from so many people before I become a mom! How do I reach out and get noticed?

Right! On BlogHer, you can have a signature line added to every comment you post (you find this by logging into BlogHer -->click my account --> click account settings --> scroll to "signature block" --> submit.)

You should also completely fill out your public profile and include both the link to your online presences and the RSS feeds for them (the rss feed will pull in the links to 5 most recent entries - click my name below to see mine.) To update your public profile, log into BlogHer.com --> click my account --> click public profile --> fill out name, bio, click the words sites and tags to add more depth and info to your profile --> submit your changes.

And, might I add --- a photo of yourself next to your byline/comment line really helps. You can do that by logging into BlogHer.com --> click my account --> click account settings --> scroll down to the photograph section --> find the photo you want to use on your computer's hard drive --> scroll down and click submit. (If you have trouble uploading a photo, email denise@blogher.com and I will assist.)

I am with Naomi.
I am a tactile person and want to see things quick and obvious.

When I subscribed one year ago, I wasn;t very internet savvy and it took me a long time to work this site out.
At least with a magazine you know how things work.

I didn't understand contributing editors. Who were they and how did they get chosen?
When did they post and how frequent and how would I know when one particular editor I liked would post.
I didn't understand where my blog went to and I could never find it again.
What was the point of so many blogs on one site when they all seem to be disappearing in no-men's land.

Persistence and often coming back finally made me understand but as said I felt lost when doing it for the first 10 visits at least and nearly gave up.

However now more savvy, it is a great site.

When I click through to blogs I sometimes see a blogher logo on those blogs.
I don't know why that is there?

Are they contributing editors or do they just show loyalty to blogher. I don't know if that is an ad or not?

I tried to fnd an example and then link to that blog but of course I cannot find one.
I will post this now and will see if I can find one and let you know later.

It's not about blogging exactly, but I would love some just very straightforward information about BlogHer. I love the community and I can spend so much time reading things on here, but I don't find it particularly user friendly.

This is not meant as an insult. I love BlogHer but just don't know all the things I think I should know.

I wold love more links to my site as well. :DI have a somewhat themed blog and it is science news, but I make it for everyone to read. You don't have to be a scientist to get anything off my site. I'm putting my ego aside and asking how to get my blog known. This is the year that I want my words to get "out there". I have a very good impression that BlogHer can help with that.

But here's the thing. We need to know what information you need to be a better blogger. What questions do you have? What goals do you want to accomplish with your blog? What tools, techniques, tips, incentives, aids, and empowering ideas do you wish were in your blogging repertoire?

Here are my goals: I want to improve my traffic on Web Teacher. This is really a challenge because my focus on that blog is teaching and learning about web design with an occasional foray into other technical topics. Staying focused means I am in a tiny niche that does not have broad appeal. What do I need to do to change that? Write better articles, widen my focus, or what?

I have some technical questions about my blog, too. I'd like to change the way I update when Wordpress comes out with new versions. The way I'm set up I can't do it automatically, but I'm not sure what I need to change to make the automatic upgrade happen. And I'm worried about the content in my sidebar if I allow automatic upgrades. I have questions, yes I do.

Here's your chance to identify what you need to know in order to be a better blogger and get some help with it.
