Again I really liked your style tips and ideas.

I must admit though to thinking that the hair styles have been letting down the whole look. I thought Kate W looked wonderful in her elegant black dress, jewels and beautifully done hair - well done Kate.

If you're going to get dressed up then do your hair to match! :)

I thought Eva Longoria's red gown was the best of the night. Kate Winslet, Salma Hayek, Susan Sarandon and Anne Hathaway also looked wonderful.

And I saw more fabulous earrings on the red carpet than I can remember.

I looooved her hair and makeup. Natural, but still "done" enough for an awards ceremony. Oh, and Ann Hathaway's gown was such a gorgeous color for her. I love watching these events so I can steal ideas for my gown that I'm designing for my brother's wedding. My plan so far is to take a picture of Renee Zellweger in to the designer and say, "do the opposite."

I really like when lady celebrities go with casual hair too. Although, whenever I dress up super fancy (so like prom and my wedding), I've found my hair looks better up to show off the snazzy-dress. But, I guess they're used to wearing the snaz and aren't so keen to show it off.

I love a good red carpet event -- it's so much fun to see people all dressed up and styled. Especially since my definition of "dressed up" is anything other than yoga pants.

You know EXACTLY what I mean.

This year's Golden Globes were a treasure trove of style trends that will honestly work for every day -- here are the top five, for you to take home and experiment with. Ready?

Minimalist makeup. This was my favorite trend -- actress after actress (Sandra Bullock, Laura Linney, Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Freida Pinto) whose faces looked radiant and fresh and -- honestly -- perfect, but NOT made up. These women looked like real people! (Or as much like real people as Hollywood stars will ever look -- you know what I mean.)

Unstyled hair. Apparently 2009 is the Year of the Casual Coif -- from Debra Messing's bushy ponytail to Angelina Jolie's hippie locks to Cameron Diaz's surfer girl chic, the hair was long and loose and unfussy. The few exceptions -- Drew Barrymore's Stepford Wife fluff, or Renee Zelweger's carefully crafted bird's nest -- weren't nearly as fetching as the simple, easy elegance of these undone 'dos.

Botanical jewelry. The bling was out in full force last night, but the pieces were beautiful replicas of flowers and twigs. Laura Dern sported a stunning pair of flower earrings, while Christina Applegate was ravishing in a botanical influenced necklace.

Asymmetrical gowns. The one-shouldered look was huge last night -- and it's a look, honestly, that works for everyone, regardless of shape (although Maggie Gyllenhaal really missed the mark in that odd Lanvin gown). My favorite look was Cameron Diaz's pink taffeta Chanel gown. Perfect.

Mickey Rourke. Proving that style is simply a matter of taste, Rourke grabbed the Golden Globe for Best Actor, and then gave one of the most sincere, self-effacing speeches I've ever heard. All while wearing a chain that hooked his wallet to his tuxedo pants and a sequined scarf.

Moral: trends are great, but being your own stylist is even greater.
