The best thing about football season is the fantasy football draft. When this happens, you know you are close to kick off on opening game day!! Our draft is tomorrow night, and I am soooo excited!!! Thanks for mentioning the fantasy football article. A bunch of the guys are sending it to their significant others. :-)

I am from Mifflin County (Lewistown), right smack in the middle of the state. BUT! I am from the _western_ part of the county. :)

Also, when my people came from Italy in the 1910s, they settled in Coraopolis, so I have Pittsburgh cred. :)

I'm about an hour east of Columbus so only two hours "home" to Pittsburgh (where I originally hail from). We're at this strange meeting place (70&77 collide) of Browns/Bengals/Steelers fans. It's funny to drive down the street and see the three flags for three different teams all in a row. :)

That said, we've only found one other Penn State flag in our city. It's very, very small and almost hidden in their rose garden. Apparently they have to go into hiding with us as well. ;)

... this year, having been relegated from the Premiership - but I've every expectation they'll bounce straight back into the Premiership. If Chelsea's less-than-imperious start to the season continues, maybe this season will take longer to be resolved, too.

Oh, wait - you're talking about *American* Football, right? Gridiron - pigskin - that kind of thing?

Actually, as it happens, I'm a time-served American Football fan, too. And I wouldn't call D.C. to Cincinatti such a road trip - in 1994 I travelled from the UK to San Diego to see the Bengals play (albeit they lost). Take *that*, Merseydotes! ;-)

I dearly love watching sports on the left coast (no late games! I actually get to see the end of Mondy Night Football and still get to bed at a decent hour)...

I don't cheer for any of the local teams. And I really hate that having 2 local teams means that I'm forced to watch a whole heck of a lot of crappy football (or miss watching the really good games) every Sunday.

Jenna, up here in the NW corner of the state, there are lots of Steelers fans around, and the number is growing thanks to Big Ben being from Findlay!

But I will concede that I am a Buckeyes fan. :)

My work schedule recently changed and I'm now working both Sunday and Monday nights. That's going to cut into my football watching time... at least until I sneak in a little portable TV. I can't go too many weeks without watching Troy Polamalu!

My Husband and I are Penn State and Steelers fans... trapped in the middle of Browns/Bengals/Buckeye country. We're not well liked. But that's just because our teams win. ;) Snark.

I AM READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL! Best part? My network now carries Sunday night football. So I think I'm going to schedule myself to work Sunday nights so as to get PAID to watch FOOTBALL. That's the life.

I used to play Fantasy Football at Yahoo! in a really hardcore way, then realized that was a bad idea (timesuck) and stopped a few years ago. But I almost always won my league, and when I moved to the paid leagues I _did_ always win my league.

My current school has an abysmal football team (San Jose State), so I root for my hometown team: Go Nittany Lions!

In the Bay Area (CA), you're either a 49ers or a Raiders fan, and I align with the 49ers although they're not going to be very good this year. So again, always keep the team-of-your-youth in your back pocket. Go Steelers! :)

Yes, I realize this puts me in direct opposition with Debra, above.

As a DC-area native, I am honor-bound to root for my 'Skins. My father and I bonded over Sonny Jurgensen, and I almost named my 9 pound, 12 ounce baby son after Dave Butz.

This year: more playoffs!

(And yes, I think the name of the team should be changed.)

But even more than football, I'm anticipating HOCKEY! C-A-P-S, Caps! Caps! Caps!

I haven't properly introduced myself. Hi. My name is Sarah, Goon Squad Sarah. I am the new Contributing Editor for Sports and Fitness.

If you have met me, you may be thinking "What the heck does Sarah know about fitness?". The truth is I don't know all that much about fitness, but I am a huge sports fan. I am an especially big fan of football. You may or may not know this but the NFL and NCAA football seasons both start next week. I am psyched, and I am not alone.

Merseydotes at The Elevated Umbrella is "Ready For Some Football". She is such a big Bengals fan that she is going all the way to Cincinnati (from D.C.) to see a game.

I'm going to ditch my husband and daughter on one of the most festive nights of the year to fly to Cinci and watch the Bengals play the Steelers in the Jungle on New Year's Eve in the freezing cold with my mom. We'll be in the south end zone, so keep your eyes peeled.

I'm not the only woman blogger who plays fantasy football either. This year I am playing in leagues with Erin, Bridgette, Tammy and Mommy at Work. Here, K.P. from The Woman Behind the Tech Guys tells us why she loves to play.

This is my 3rd year in fantasy football and let me tell you - WHAT FUN!! I am the only woman in the league. (By the way, I have never finished less than 3rd.) I have always been a huge sports fan anyway, but this gives you the opportunity to enjoy any game that is being shown.
