Also, I'd like to add that if your host cannot help you retrieve any files, etc, then you need a new host. That is simply unacceptable.

for me, backing up WordPress with PHPMyAdmin is a breeze but you can also export with the built-in tools. However, I actually take the passive route and have a database back-up plug-in email me copies of my DB every week. I don't currently use any other blogging software so I cannot comment on it.

This tutorial is so geared toward WordPress. The title should really say that. Blogger, for example, works in an entirely different manner.

This post is very misleading. cPanel is a proprietary name for one specific control panel software. It happens to be the most common in the United States; although others exist and some hosts, like GoDaddy, even offer a custom solution. The screenshots are not actually of cPanel. In fact, I can't identify the software. Although control panels do operate in a similar fashion, this could be confusing for someone who really doesn't know what she's doing with it.

I think I missed the day at school when women were told to hate how they look. At 53, I still feel the same about my looks as I did at 12. I look fine. It's not a big deal. I look at myself in the mirror when I brush my teeth. That's it. If anyone doesn't like the way I look - or if they do - oh well.
