Thank you so much for the great information! I'm new to blogging, using it to promote an Internet radio talk show. Right now I'm trying to figure out the difference in Atom and RSS. Is one better than the other?

Warm regards,

Ageless Marketing/Ageless Design

I enjoyed your post, as this is a subject (and practice) to which I'm passionately devoted. I'm glad that companies are starting to take notice, as well. Some of the major design and appliance industry manufacturers are spending resources in this area, which will benefit all of us: those who need help now, those helping our parents now, those needing help later.

I'd like to get more info on one of your references: David Wolf.

Thanks!

Animals and livestock

I'm uncomfortable that both of my blogs are a subsection of Mommy and Family. The catblogosphere is bigger and more beautiful than just the family. AND, I compete in an Olympic sport (no it's not under sports) that both men and women compete in -- equally. Riders tend to be older than other athletes and so are the horses. Horses are not pets, they are livestock and in my case, dancing partners. Let's get an animal category at Blogher out of a discussion on animals and livestock blogs.

Cat on a onesie...picturing it right now.

I don't know how old you are, but we will be having both a twenty-somethings meet-up, and a MidlifeBloggers.com meet-up, and a Boomer and Beyond meet-up.

There's also a session specifically about women without children in the blogosphere (Laurie is speaking on it.)

Or you could hang out in the Tech track (aka How We Communicate) and brush up your skillz in video or learn about traffic building.

There's the whole What We Do track which is also more about tips and tricks around blogging than around the identity of blogging.

Bottom line is that I hope there is a lot to do even for folks who are Life bloggers, and don't fit neatly into a particular blogging group.

HI there:

What I need you to do to get these ideas on the schedule is:

Review this post to understand the process, then commit to lead a session yourself by:

1. Reviewing the agenda

2. Sending me an email with:
a. Your top 3 preferred time slots for your session
b. Your name for your session

There are still slots open, so I say: "Go for it!"

Social Media Sites and How They Fit In With Your Blogging World

I would love to have a room to discuss how social media is helping BlogHers to connect with other bloggers from tech, marketing, publishing, etc. in order to network. I'm specifically interested in interactive social sites like Twitter and Friendfeed, etc.

Thanks! ~Viv

Of course, ByJane.

Check out the agenda and send Kristy and me your top three preferred time slots.

Obviously you DON'T want to schedule it during the Boomers & Beyond Birds of a Feather session. so watch out for that :)

The Emergent Virtual World

How about a fun b.s. session/brainstorming session on speculation about the emergent virtual world? Web 3.0 to the Nth. What will the metaverse look like in ten years. 20 years? What will blogs morph into? Will we have avatars speak our blogs or will we use images or ourselves, some combination of both? Will this mean something like limitless channels on a combined TV Internet 4th Wall? Where should we aim? Where are current trajectories headed? What is the cutting edge down the path likely to be given best guesses?

This would be perfect for the MidLifeBloggers. The site, which grew out of a conversation on BlogHer, is on-line and evolving daily. We're just waiting for the one month anniversary of our first post, which will be SOON!, to sign on as an official BlogHer blog.

Can we also be a BOF this year?!?!?!?

Just proves that advertisers can make anything sound like sex.
I entered "Web Teacher" and the slogan came back: Do the Web Teacher.
I entered "Mastering HTML and CSS" and the slogan came back: Splash Mastering HTML and CSS All Over.

What a stupidly funny mismatch of messages.

This is sort of a tangential question, but I was wondering what you thought of the Do Follow movement where many bloggers have taken the nofollow tag out of their comment section?
