Trisha - indeed I can understand.Being shy can put an added challenge in there. My colleague John did a nice series on Networking for Introverts

Make sure you reward yourself each time you step out of your comfort zone. Little by little with small steps you'll create a "new normal" where it feels more natural for you. Remember to be yourself ... it's ok to be shy!

Networking has always been hard for me - even online, because I am shy. I am trying to force myself to do it though.

There's a big difference between a hard sell and networking. Networking comes naturally to some. Others may take years to realize that it's never just about talent or skills - you must build a network in order to advance. As you said, the best part is, that it is actually a fun, rewarding process.

Love the tips on how to handle large events. I'll remember those for BlogHerCon. :)
