Did you call the hotel and they said no doubles? I did ask them to make changes to there should be the option to ask for either a double/double or king.

That might pose a problem, given my roommate will be approaching her 3rd trimester with toddler in tow, and I will be bringing my infant as well.

Any word on whether rooms with 2 doubles are available again?

There don't seem to be any more rooms with 2 double beds, either. I just booked and my roommate and I are going to have to be better friends than we have anticipated. :-)

Do we have to stay at the hotel? There is a hostel a mile down the road for $34 a night. Thats a huge savings and I am down for an adventure.Good or bad idea? This will be my first time.

New to conference

This will be my first BlogHer conference and I'm so excited. I was just wondering generally how many people to a room? I thought I read somewhere that the $199 only applied to two people per room, but on here it sounds like most people room four to a room. How many to a room usually? I can't wait to find a roommate (first of all) and then meet everyone at the conference.

I think I registered in January last year (forget to be honest - blame @QueenofSpain, she had me revved up for like 6 months in advance!)

So I was just wondering if we'll know when the early reg is up?

Oh! for those who haven't done this before - there's usually a thread at somepoint of others who are BlogHer bound and would love to share the room cost with someone else - so if you don't think you know anyone going you could room with, it's a good time to make new friends!

I saw that too! It can be very expensive to book 3 rooms, 3nights. $200+ for deposit. OUCH! I wanted to go ahead and book just in case but I'm hoping to have sponsors. Ugh

Conference roommates

It's great having a roommate at this conference. Midnight blogging pajama party! Spooning optional!

If you have a roommate, it's a good idea to bring a power strip. Hotel rooms sometimes don't have enough power outlets and with 3 bloggers in a room, all with laptops, phones, cameras, and other gadgets all with their own charger cords, it's a frenzied power cord moshpit in there. I also like to bring an extra little ethernet hub or wireless router. Then as long as there is an ethernet jack in the hotel room, you are all guaranteed to have good signal strength. 5 pairs of shoes and 30 pounds of electronic gadgetry in my backpack !
