Good questions to ask in our "Slice 'em and Dice 'em" society. It seems to me that we've lost all perspective with regard to looking good... make that... looking young.

I'm all for using everything at our disposal in order to look our best, but there is a point where we just have to accept our aging gracefully.

Hollywood these days appears to believe that bloated fish lips and faces pulled tighter than rubber bands is attractive. They oughta take a look at that on an HD TV! Yikes!

I'll take my natural lines anyday.

For the last several years, polish doesn't touch my fingers. Just too impractical, what with all the typing and diaper changing. I now get my nails buffed which looks polished (so to speak) but without the chipping.

The pedi I seem to be able to make last for just about a month, but the french mani -forget it! Four days tops! Any suggestions on how to make a "French" last?

I am so chicken to try light colors on my tootsies, but one of these days I will take the plunge :)

I'm an Indian woman and I've seen so many matrimonial ads that refer to color that I've become immune to them- I don't even bat an eyelid- same goes for the ads on TV. It's sad, really. There's too much hypocrisy in this country and this love for the 'fair' color is just another example. I've written a sarcastically funny post on the same topic- do check it out!

That is exciting news! Personally I try to avoid malls at all costs as I don't care for the traffic or being bombarded by the crowds & music ~ so hopefully my area will be among those to have at least one CVS 360 nearby!

I too am going longer between pedi's. Of course, in the pacific Northwest, I only have to worry about open toed shoes for a couple of months before the rain comes back again and my toes go under wraps. I bring my own bottle of color rather than choosing from what they have there. That way I have the color on hand if it starts to chip or wear prematurely. I hadn't thought about getting a lighter color though, great tip!

My Whole Foods offers free group classes about what ingredients to avoid, which to embrace, how to find skincare products with less packaging, etc. And honestly, nothing is more fun than mingling with girl friends while a Whole Foods team member plies you with non-bottled water and beautiful beauty care products.
