&lt;p&gt;Boston is like that.  It&#039;s so small that you constantly run into people so it behooves (that&#039;s a word right?) one to look presentable and some what neutral.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>When I lived in a slobby</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;When I lived in a slobby beach neighborhood in San Diego it was almost frowned upon to try and look presentable. Everyone wore shorts and t-shirts, or worse. But now that I&#039;m in Washington DC I&#039;ve realized it&#039;s networking central. I&#039;m constantly running in to acquaintances of mine or my husband&#039;s, usually professionals in suits. Since I work from home I don&#039;t put too much effort into my work clothes. But now I suddenly do for my errands-running clothes. I&#039;m not wearing a suit to CVS, but I&#039;m putting on a skirt and some footwear other than flip-flops.&lt;/p&gt;
