With that Victoria's Secret swimdress. But looking at the size chart I just don't see it working for me (well, not enough to order it online which I'd have to do because we don't have VS here). If I happen to see it in Chicago though I just might have to try it on...

Although I wear bikinis, I insist on full-bottom coverage and on a well-structured top. I think there's time for triangle bikinis (teens and early twenties, pre-kids), but after that, they just don't look or feel right. Last year I wrote about plus size swimwear - I think you just inspired me to write another swimsuit post!

Exfoliate the crap out of yourself beforehand.

MOISTURIZE before hand. That orangey look comes from too much stuff seeping into dry skin.

SHAVE beforehand.

And - well, if it was me and I was going to be in a wedding, I would exfoliate and stuff after the tan and before the wedding to help even everything out a bit. It's going to lessen the color a little, but I think it's also a little more natural looking afterwards. And sluffs off some of the color that you might otherwise sweat off. :-)

Thanks so much for that fact Ron. I've done some consulting for an organic skin care company and discovered that indeed, there's a perception that something "natural" might not perform as well. It's funny that somehow chemical = effective, especially with so many amazing brands out there (some of which have been around for decades, as a testament to their efficacy) that do offer all-natural formulations.

I look forward to spending some time on your site.

Hi Liz,

This subject has come up quite a bit on my website, BeautyStat.com. We have surveyed hundreds of women and they have told us that although they like the fact that products are now offered in natural or organic varieties, first and foremost they want their beauty products to perform.

However if their favorite product was offered in a natural, organic or eco-friendly formula, they would be willing to pay slightly more for it.

If you're doing a bunch of

If you're doing a bunch of bronze-y accents in your make up I would shy away from more bronze on your nails. It might start to look like you're becoming a bronze statue. Personally, I like the antilope as wel, or any other pinkish variation.
