...travelled alone, I mean, except from reach a destination by plane / train to meet people. I'd like to experience such a thing, also for the "need" to be more opened and know more people. Sometimes when you travel in group, you lose opportunity to meet new presons...

well, I will do it for sure, it will be more and more difficult travelling with friends, as working and not being studnets it's not easy to have the same holiday weeks...

Ever since I was a little girl,my parents took me to see Santa. It was scary the first time but then he came to grow on mre and I liked the idea of telling him what I would like to get each year. My husband and I got a great rug, I got half my winter sweaters, a cool scarf, a couple pairs of pants, a crazy number of books, a lamp, a funky wall hanging for our dining area wall, a really cool guy's hoodie that looks good on me, a flatware set orginally from Kohls, a set of knives, Christmas decorations for our house, an awesome teapot that is really cute, a cover for our daybed in our guest room, a nice sheet set for our bedroom, and various odds and ends from the thrift stores we've visited. It is always fun to look around in that store, and this store not far from home where it's set up like a flea market. They have all sorts of things there. Many times we do find items with tags still attached, and some of the purchases we've made have gone to benefit poor familes and children. One store was raising money for a child who needed a new specially made wheelchair, and it felt good to give toward that. :)

Hi Kalyn! Martha was actually my mother-in-law (I know I rather purposefully obscured that in my post about her...), so the fondue is family recipe also, even though I'm not Swiss myself. I'm glad I paid enough attention to record her fondue method before she passed away, and happy I get to share it with the world.

Getting in some physical activity outdoors is a great way for me to deal with the blues, no matter what time of year. And as for the extra pounds, a return to normal eating can take care of those. What happens for many of us, though, is that the constant snacking continues for a while. Takes a little cold turkey.

Although I used to own a fondue set. I love it though. We've been debating what to eat for New Year's...I think we've settled on Mexican.
