I totally agree with you. Jessica Simpson is not about beauty from within. She is also not at all about self-confidence or personal strength or any of those 'beauty from within' attributes.

Which is understandable, because as you point out it's her job to uphold a certain standard of attractiveness. It's not her job to be a positive academic role model. But let's not pretend otherwise, you know?

I don't think I'll be watching.

Excellent point!

Very good point about not going overboard with the bronze -- that's why I'm thinking more about the lighter golds and the turquoises.

Thanks for the vote! I'm pretty sure that either 1 or 5 is going to be on my fingernails... Maybe I'll flip a coin!

If you're doing a bunch of bronze-y accents in your make up I would shy away from more bronze on your nails. It might start to look like you're becoming a bronze statue. Personally, I like the antilope as wel, or any other pinkish variation.

My vote is split between number 1 and number 5. Good luck with your decision. I am sure any of these colors will go beautifully and it will all come together very well for the wedding. Samantha Shipley
blog.zooloo.com

Lipstick!

I refuse to leave the house without it, and since it's so easy to carry - plus the creamy lipsticks are not liquids so no worries there - I always carry several tubes with me, in different colors.

You know when people ask you "what's the one makeup item you just can't live without" - for me, that's lipstick. :)

I frankly did not understand this was a condition at all until I did some research and understood that some of my own anxiety and stress comes from worrying about how others view me. That has inspired me to do a lot more reading on the topic, which in my case helps me understand whats going on. And you know what they say, understanding the problem is the first step on the road to recovery. Hang in there! You are not alone by any stretch.

Thank you!

Thank you for addressing this issue...so many women don't! I have always been shy and suffered from social anxiety...every day is a struggle because I always worry about what others will think of me. Part of that probably comes from being a twin and constantly being compared to someone else your entire life...we both went to counceling on and off as teenagers, but yes-it is a major issue and something that is so hard to overcome! I hate to rely on drugs for the rest of my life to calm my nerves, and I do believe God has a plan for my life-other than being anxious all the time. As I get older and more secure in myself it gets better, but it's still a struggle every day....Becky

Even though it can be a little messy to travel with, I just love, love, love these powdered foundations. I'm not that into makeup, but when I tried these products I was hooked. (And no, I don't have a stake in the company!)

It depends.

For me it depends on the actual product. For undereye darkness - which I have no matter how much sleep I get - there's a product over at Shain Dee I like - http://www.shabbatcosmetics.com

It comes with three different colors in it, green which tones down redness, yellow, and a salmon-like pink that are both for dark circles. Mixed together under my foundation they do wonders. Plus being kosher gives me a confidence in it's safety.

They also have a lipstick there called Dyeceptions that, while it does eventually fade, even if you put the lipstick sealer over it, lasts for many more hours then any "long last" lipstick.

I've been told to make my eyes stand out more I should use purple eyeshadow and eyeliner. But my eyes are so deep set that all that purple makes me look like an extra from a zombie film. Anyway, I suck so much at putting on eyemakeup it always looks weird. And no one will show me how to do it right. When I tell makeup people "I don't know how to do it" they look at me like if I'm speaking Klingon. They can't seem to comprehend that I need to be taught.

BTW - I find foundation works better if you use a sponge to put it on, lightly powder it, then rub it down lightly with tissues. It's more natural looking but still helps even skin tone. Being an adult acne sufferer and a singer I have to try and disguise the zits as much as possible. (And no, Proactive and all the other ance medicines do NOT work for me!)

    I mix a brightener

I mix a brightener from smashbox with concealer to make it thinner and more natural looking. Also try to match your skin tone, don't go lighter.

Black eyeliner inside the rim of the eyelid does not work for me, I just look like I have bloodshot eyes, its terrible. angie rosieandthebutcher.com

I use Laura Mercier Secret

I use Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in the inner corners of my eyes - I could never get the white pencil to work.

Secret Concealer's pretty awesome. I use it to cover up all sorts of sins, and all I do is stick my finger in the pot and spread. No powder to set, no science to it.

Good Luck!
