This is politics at its worst. There were agendas that needed attention. He was merely a pawn. It will be easy to scapegoat him and everyone will have their opinions about his stupidity. But at the end of the day, those US attorneys are still fired...mission accomplished and it is unlikely that the Bush Adminsitration would try this again. The goal was to get rid of those that did not carry the Party's water and it was done. The fall out will die down and we all will forget.
