...but I really don't have anywhere NEAR Lieberman's credentials.

Also- I assume we'd play with a men's ball, not a women's ball. I mean, there are some 'practical' reasons you might not play co-ed. But if it's pickup games? Heck yes... time to lace up ladies.

Making Memories

Lots of parents today seem focused on "doing things" so their kids will have experiences -- and, admittedly, we do that in my house, too. Travel to the Grand Canyon, rafting in Colorado, touring Washington DC. But, it will be interesting to "interview" our kids when they are grown -- somehow I think their memories will be the ones we didn't plan -- hanging out with their cousins in the back on a summer night, the family walking the dogs together in the morning and having giggle-fests during dinner over something someone said. I think generally we just all want to make memories for them -- and have them say, "I had a happy childhood!"

Games Do Hold Special Memories

So one time we had our neighbors over for a game night in which we played a version of the newlywed game. You know the one where someone asks a series of questions and then your partner trys to guess what you said. The winner not only wins but gets bragging rites on being the couple who know each other the best.

So we were playing it and one of the questions was, "what is the most embarassing thing you know about your partner." My neighbor "Jill" started laughing so hard she was crying and in turn "Jack" thought she was going to spill the beans about a moment that I can't even repeat here. Needless to say we found out way too much about each other that night, and it was a blast doing so.

Games bring the best, worst and funniest part of people out. I never get tired of playing board games or just a good game of Rummy 500 with the ones I love!

The machine itself is working without having to be sent off to Nintendo. I got a new power cord and new cords that connect it to the vcr/dvd player.

The only problem now, is that besides frying those cords, it fried the input jacks on the vcr/dvd that it had originally been plugged into. So it doesn't work if we set it up with the same tv/vcr/dvd that we had it set up with before.

were you able to get the Wii fixed from the lightning strike? ours just suffered the same thing and i can't power it up at all. don't know if it is fried and done or if it can get repaired without buying a new system.
