And I recommend it to everyone I know! It's great! The first car seat capable of holding a child from birth until they no longer need a car/booster seat, foldable, low sitting, cute, I could go on and on.

I think it's the best out there!

We're very happy with our Radian, and we love that it folds up! We
live in Canada, and here the Radian is certified for children up to
65lbs, so it will last us at least a few more years. In the USA, there
is also a Radian that is certified for children up to 80lbs!

My husband and I attempted to rent a carseat once for our then almost 2-yr-old. The carseat was lacking a part needed to secure it into the seat. We attempted to find one to buy ourselves, but never did track it down so it was secured as best as we could. Thankfully, nothing happened and she was safe, but we will never again fly without our carseats.

I've never heard of renting carseats. I can see where bringing your own would be a strong inconvienence, but I think I'd risk that.

We ordered an infant seat online for our 10 month old, they gave us a toddler seat... It was terrible we were flying internationally (no use carrying our own since no place to stash and a pain to carry locally -- they don't use car seats there)... it was total panic..

we eventually drove to the airport and parked our car there.

I was actually warned by fellow moms after the birth of my first daughter to always take a car seat when travelling, so we have. It is a shame; this should never be allowed to happen. It is sometimes a chore to haul the car seat back and forth, especially our oldest daughter's since she no longer uses it on the plane but needs it in the car, but I can't imagine deaing with something like this! The condition of the seats with the stains and smells are horrible; the safety, I'm sure, is even worse.
