Bad Bananas

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your comment. Oooh, bananas gone bad!

If you don't have time to make the banana bread, you can also peel the bananas and toss them in the freezer in a zip top bag. Then, add them to smoothies anytime you get a hankering... The frozen bananas will make it seem more lucious and ice-creamy.

Mamamich, this looks terrific! And I just happen to have a bunch of bananas with eight hours of life left in them. Okay, maybe four hours...

What a cutie! It just proves that they're never too young to start cooking. (Well, almost never!)

I've started a series on cooking with my daughter, though as it turns out, she does all the cooking and I just write the recipes and supervise. And clean up. Here's a link to the series: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/labels/E%20Cooks.html

no recipes

I can't point to a recipe, but I can tell you how my granddaughter likes to cook her tortillas. She does it this way for scrambled eggs, which she cooks herself, too. (She's 11.)

The tortilla must be cooked over an open flame on a gas stove. (Electric stoves are a challenge.) You flip it with your fingertips and it isn't done until little bubbly bits of the tortilla have turned dark brown and crispy. At the table, you tear off small hunks of tortilla. You use your fingers and the tortilla hunk to corral a bite of scrambled egg.
