Pookielocks started it. I want to make sure you know about it. Head on over to the NaNoWriMo BlogHer Group and introduce yourself.

... but I'm not too sure what I'm going to write about yet (and while it is bending the rules, I'm considering doing something non-fiction).

I made a simple tracking sheet today that might be helpful: http://www.domesticjoy.com.au/nanowrimo-tracker-template-and-some-resour...

Good luck!

:) Catherine @Domestic Joy My food and domestic blog: http://www.domesticjoy.com.au

November was the craziest month in college! I forgot all about that and I've only been out for two years! :-)

Thanks for the support!

I'll cheerlead

I have no desire to write a book in a month. lol I don't even know if I'd ever want to write a book. I'm pretty happy with reading them. But I'll happily cheerlead everyone who is doing it.

Funny that you mention college - I was always amused that NaNoWriMo happened in November. It was always one of the most term paper intense writing months for me in school. All I ever did in Novembers was write.

Sassymonkey and Sassymonkey Reads.

The thing with Atwood

Is that when I see her in person and hear her read from her own stories, or just talk, I'm enthralled. (Yes, I've been lucky enough to meet her and attend several readings. Sigh. I really miss living in Toronto sometimes.) But when I actually read her works it's just not the same. To me, and I'm pretty sure I'm in a minority, I think of her as a storyteller more than a writer and I want her to tell me the story. Not words on a page, even though they are very fine words on a page.

Though this is a very good reminder that Moral Disorder has been languishing on my shelves for a very long time.

Sassymonkey and Sassymonkey Reads.

I already have my webmaster working on the upgrades, and as for me...well I have plenty to work on myself.

Is there a feedback form I can access? You all did a great job, and with just a few 'edits' this will be the conference ALL bloggers will want to attend next year!

Take care,

Karen

Cook4Seasons

Blogging and Writing

From Kelly's comments: Writing that really reaches out and speaks to others has to have a level of honesty that the blogging world does not always appreciate.

I've written stories, poetry, and essays since I was nine. Blogging came to me several years ago and I do it because it keeps my brain oiled; because I can reach out to others who struggle with some of the same issues I struggle with; because I sometimes do say something that touches someone, something that makes a difference to someone. I write to preserve, as it has been said in This Bridge Called My Back, the me that the world would erase. I have found Kelly's comments to be true. The Blogging world does not always appreciate the writers' need to be deeply honest.

R

Don’t mind the destination, don’t mind the end. Learn from the past, but grab hold of now. Now is always evolving. ~Rumi

Can anyone out there point me in the right direction about including pictures in posts? I (thought) added the original artwork at the top of this post--but all that showed up was a little box with the image title...I'd love a pointer or two from some vetran blogher bloggers :)

I'm skipping the farmers market today

I have a ton of work to do. I pulled down my blog last week because it was bugging me, and now it's bugging me because it's not there. TW ran over my foot with the wheelchair twice yesterday, with her mother in it. I think I'm too tired, too stressed and too busy for the Farmers Market/Breakfast/Assisted Living visit today even though we are also running out of summer and I'll be longing for Farmers Market Sundays for months on end.
