My daughter is in prison too and like you I worried myself sick not knowing of her whereabouts.Or if she was even alive.She lost 3 beautiful sons to wonderful families and I am raising the oldest 1 he is 15 he is a precious youngman and I would be lost without him.So I understand where you are coming from God bless you and your family, Kathy

I can not even count the sleepless nights worrying about Tiffany on the streets. I never slept so well as when she got arrested and I knew she was safe.

Unconditional Love

I had always believed that I had unconditional love for my husband. But if you think about it...that's not true. There are things we just will not tolerate from our partners.

I never knew true unconditional love until my daughter was a troubled teen. True unconditional love doesn't always mean agreeing or condoning. It just means loving. That's what she's taught me.

I don't know what it took to write so beautifully about what has happened to your daughter and you.
I can only imagine the courage, honesty and the amount of love it took.

If we could live life in this spirit when life throws this at us, we cannot but go towards a better place.

Well our Thanksgiving dinner....

features the same exact people as every other meal (though this year my stepson is in culinary school so I expect advice that I may or may not want and may or may not heed. Oh and he better bring something!) so I'll most likely do just what I did the last few years:

A nice top that I can cook in (last year I wore a really cute kimono top) and nice jeans (oh I stay clean during cooking and baking. I'm freakish like that) and then, since I never do, a nice pair of earrings or a necklace. So the same as always but stepped up just a little. And I do like the kids to do the same.

And yes, I do make a full on turkey dinner, even if we have no guests!

I am so not thankful for muffin tops, except the kind you eat, which causes the love handles I've acquired.

My main priority is to stay warm and at the same time look presentable.

Both will be hard to accomplish since I'll be doing all the shopping, cooking and hosting but I'm sure it will work out so long as I get out of my jump suit the last minute :)

What to wear in a thunderstorm... I'm going with some light brown corduroy slacks, a dark brown 3/4 sleeve sweater with a fake dark green and white button down collared shirt underneath and dark brown boots. I'll be cooking some, cleaning some, and chasing little kids a lot so I think its a good compromise between dressy and casual!
