This year, create a decoration for next year and the year after and the year after. Using the Twelve Days of Christmas as a theme, take one photograph each day, somthing meaningful. Maybe putting up the Christmas tree, or baking cookies, wrapping gifts, lighting holiday candles, or making holiday candles. Be sure to include some photos of people, especially your children, grandchildren, or even yourself.

Then, next year, this book will become part of your decorations, but with a twist. You'll add next year's Twelve Days of Christmas, too.

Each year, twelve more photos will be added. Wow, I wish I had thought of this when my children were younger...........................:(

you are making me nervous. Very nervous. I think I have a couple of kids who are very much like you. Any second now one of them is going to ask if she/he can dig in the garage for the decorations. I just know it.

I clicked through to your post and laughed out loud. Here's my fave part:

"I love it. I love every tacky little thing that this woman is doing. I am secretly jealous that people expect this of her because she is crazy and old.

"I want to do it. I want to deck out my home with holiday cheer in November. I want to wear reindeer antlers on my head and put up mistletoe over my door. I want a wreath with tacky elves and a plastic Santa Claus that shouts “ho ho ho” when he detects motion..."

Go girl. I want to see a photo of those antlers....
