I like your phrase, "networking central."

Boston is like that. It's so small that you constantly run into people so it behooves (that's a word right?) one to look presentable and some what neutral.

When I lived in a slobby beach neighborhood in San Diego it was almost frowned upon to try and look presentable. Everyone wore shorts and t-shirts, or worse. But now that I'm in Washington DC I've realized it's networking central. I'm constantly running in to acquaintances of mine or my husband's, usually professionals in suits. Since I work from home I don't put too much effort into my work clothes. But now I suddenly do for my errands-running clothes. I'm not wearing a suit to CVS, but I'm putting on a skirt and some footwear other than flip-flops.

You can linger over anything you darn well please! And I often take a good book to the coffee shop instead of my laptop. A book encourages conversation or hello, where a laptop says "I'm working - do not disturb".

And who cares what you order? Anyone who comments is rude!

I am totally new to blogging but would love to help out in anyway that I can. I have learned a lot since starting my own blog 2 mths ago and just love coming over to blogher and meeting so many wonderful people and I am so excited about learning more.

I plan on attending the reach tour in DC so please let me know what a first timer can do. I am kind of interested in the Session #1: I Blog, Therefore I Am ________, Figuring Out Your Blogging Mojo (I would like to help on this one not lead it I am not ready for that yet maybe next year). Any suggestions you have a great just want to be involved and learn as much as I can.

I am very excited about meeting everyone and hope to learn so much more.
