My Big Suggestion

My big suggestion would be to come to Kansas City. It is right here in the Heartland, and it has plenty of conference space. And lots of bloggers who are willing to drive a few hours, but may find the 2-3 day drive West or East a little difficult.

Plus it is only 45 minutes from my parents. I know you just forgot to include my schedule in this year's line up of events. :)

As someone who lives in Denver, I wasn't about to make the Southern conferences - but I know how disappointing it is to have to call them off.

Conference planning is far harder than most folks realize. I grew up with a Mom who was a professional meeting planner and watched those headaches for years.

It's actually really saying something positive about the folks at BlogHer that you guys withdrew rather than trying to push on and maybe lessening the BlogHer experience for those attending in the cancelled cities. It takes courage to say "no, we don't think we can provide the kind of experience we promised you given the current situation, we'd rather cancel than let you down."

Major kudos for being that brave guys. I'll see you wherever the main '09 show is. I *WISH* I could make it to either boston or DC - those sound amazing! :)
