Great. I mentioned her book on your blog awhile back. I'm glad to see this candid interview at blogher. Her advice on not giving up while seeking help is tremendously important. This does get better!

Question for Valerie

I'm sure there was a whole audience for your book that wasn't expecting your segment on PPD, and would normally not be exposed to that part of your story.

Did you get a lot of feedback from the partisans and wonks and political junkies that read your book...and what was it like?

Lessons Learned?

Valerie: I have also suffered from depression and I have a strong personal commitment to public service. What I would like to know (having not read your book yet) is how struggling through depression helped you to survive the horrible challenges you faced after the security breach/leak. What skills or lessons did you learn from one scary situation that you were able to apply to others?

Thank you for your years of service to our country and for helping us all strive to do better.
