I have a friend in Gainesville (where we used to live) who tweeted that her husband turned on the heat for awhile this morning... it was 66 degrees there.

Everyone is out to rub it in today - and I'm overly sensitive because I hate snow but I particularly hate snow in October.

Now about that friendlier in the sunshine thing... I agree. Completely.

I didn't care for the suburban sprawl out where we were staying, but there was lots to like about Flordia. And I really was charmed by the people, I swear, that sunshine makes for a friendlier population.

To be fair, I was homesick before I read this. You just twisted the knife, lol.

Here I sit in the suburbs of Chicago with a windchill never felt in Florida, snow flurries possible, a gas heater that shouldn't even be ON in October but might as well not be on because it doesn't work...

I'm freezing. I miss Florida. I want to go home!

I respect your credentials as a political bloggers, and I'm sure you must know far better than I do what's what with the primary season. So I won't argue your points. I will just say that this Democrat will vote for McCain rather than Obama. Yes, I'm one of the "mature" white women who believe Clinton would make the best president. And iif you think we'll "forget" by November, then you're mistaken, not to mention incredibly cynical. I'm curious, though, as to why if you "couldn't even bring myself to care about this issue," you wrote this post. Really, that's a question, not a comment. What was your purpose?

Hi Morra.

Even though I'm a FL voter, my vote doesn't count because I voted for Edwards. And I will support any Democrat before I vote for McCain.

However, I do think that the DNC made a huge mistake when they decided to "punish" Florida and Michigan voters. These are two states that could end up deciding the outcome of the general election. If the Dems lose the White House...I think it will be traced back to this decision.
