Mothers Act

Mother’s Act advocates get very shrill and angry at anyone who questions their advocacy and especially they get very shrill, angry and THREATENING towards anyone who presents the truth of what this bill is really all about, which they refuse to look at or discuss. The most repugnant aspect of this bill is how psychiatric interests work so hard to smoothly misrepresent the unnatural (drugging of pregnant mothers) as natural or okay when prior to psychotropic drugs, mothers were always counselled by traditional Western medical authorities not to take any drugs or as little as possible. How the authority of traditional doctors was usurped by nonmedical quasi medical(?) authorities would make an interesting investigation. Also, Mother’s Bill advocates are strangely silent about the birth defects that have been linked to these drugs and existing litigation against drug companies for compensation for the death, damage and disability to newborns linked to these drugs. The other point about the Mother’s Bill is that it is ironically named for a psychiatric victim and the legislation provides for millions of pregnant women to be able receive without their informed consent the damaging treatment that the woman named for this bill unfortunately was victimized by receiving without her informed consent.

Thank you so much for supporting what we're doing at MOMocrats to support White Ribbon Alliance!

The other two groups are fantastic, too.

And online has offered me some of my favorite friends and best support as a person and a mother, so I say ENJOY!

Plus, the stories I've read today---oh we need that care for women.

Is that sad? My own mother would say yes.

We understand. We support you! Don't be sad or ashamed.

That video e-card

I got such a kick out of the Mom's Rising Mother's Day video e-card that I found a way to put it in my Mother's Day books list for last minute shoppers. I also sent it to friends. I won't say my favorite part here because that would spoil it for someone else using the card. Mentioned Rita Arens also in that last minute shoppers book list. So many talented women online, you included, Morra. :-)

Not everyone wants to talk about it. And that's perfectly okay. Some people, once they get through it, are happy to leave it put away forever. I'm especially noisy, so I'm happy to do some talking in place of those who would rather move on!

I agree

I agree--Postpartum Depression is extremely common, although for those who have experienced it, it can be incredibly alienating. I wonder why people aren't more willing to talk about it--and I have no suggestions to offer, since...well, I'm not willing to talk about it!!!

PPD is something that

PPD is something that needs to be talked about more. I kept silent about my own PPD and it wasn't until after I recovered that I discovered my mother in law went through it too. She would have been a rock of support had I been able to share.

Great. I mentioned her book on your blog awhile back. I'm glad to see this candid interview at blogher. Her advice on not giving up while seeking help is tremendously important. This does get better!
