Dancing with the Stars Recap: The Top 10 Tell a Story

PS-I'm sticking to my week one prediction of who's going to take it all.
This is story week. Each celebrity is going to tell a story about their most memorable year via dance. Via ballroom dance, I should clarify. Here's how it went down.
1. Rob and Cheryl danced a Foxtrot to one of his dad's favorite song, "Fly Me to the Moon" by Sinatra
Memorable Year: 2003, when his dad died. He was 15.
This was quite lovely. And wow, his footwork has improved so much since week one. He does have a bit of the Ralph Macchio Spatula Hands syndrome, but he's also starting to be charming and romantic. I liked this a surprising amount, and I think he should be safe.
2. Chynna and Tony danced a Rumba to "Hold On" by WilsonPhillips
Memorable Year: 1990, when "Hold On" was released (song was inspired by trying to get sober and get therapy and get healthy).
She has very lovely lines and a lot of grace. She has also got extension and flexibility. On the down side: The song didn't really fit the Rumba, and at times she could have been more grounded. She seemed a little unsteady on her feet. And I also wonder if the audience will be turned off by her dancing to her own song. There was something weirdly egotistic about it, even though all the dances were about the star. Still, she's likely safe.
3. Chaz and Lacey danced a Rumba to a Sonny Bono song, "Laugh at Me"
Memorable Year: 2011, because it's the happiest he's ever been.
Well, it wasn't so good, was it? A lot of Lacey dancing around Chaz. A lot of him looking uncomfortable. And not a flattering outfit. I just feel like we're all rooting for Chaz to be better than he is, just as Carrie Ann said. But if he's not in shape to actually step up and dance much, that cheerleading will fade. I think Chaz is at risk.
4. Kristin and Mark danced a Samba to Beyonce's "Crazy in Love"
Memorable Year: 2005, the year she graduated high school, moved to L.A. and made the decision of going to school or pursuing her "entertainment" career.
Well, she kinda held on, but I continue to think Mark choreographs to make himself look good more than his partners. She was a little too loose, actually…she could have used more precision and sharpness. I didn't really like this, and wonder if all the unrepentant booty-shaking will turn some folks off and put her at risk.
5. Carson and Anna danced a Tango to "It's My Life" by No Doubt.
Memorable Year: 2003, the year Queer Eye came out. The first time he was proud of who he was.
Well, he can certainly kick high, wow! OK, he was still gawky, but as Len put it: "You put the boy in flamboyant. That tango had merit." I think he's still going to charm the pants off of folks. Who can't relate to that gawky kid?
6. JR and Karina danced a Rumba to Tim McGraw's "If you're reading this"
Memorable Year: The year of his accident, he was 19. He thought it would have been better if he had died. But he decided to turn it around and look for the positive.
Wow. Yes, I cried. And yeah, he's going to win. It was the emotion, yes, but he also danced it really well…long lines and smooth hips and all. Sticking with my prediction that JR takes it all.
7. Nancy and Tristan danced a Waltz to "Moon River", the song she walked down the aisle to, and the first lullaby she sang to her twins.
Memorable Year: 2008, the year her twins were born (and almost died)
It was quite slow and plodding, and for the first third she was pretty stiff. Although she got looser and more elegant after that. I continue to think she and Chaz are the least interesting in this group, simply because they are one step behind in delivering. She should be at risk.
8. Ricki and Derek danced a Rumba to "Gravity" by Sara Bareilles
Memorable Year: 2010, the year she got divorced, her house burned down and she met her current dude.
Really nice. Lots of dynamic range, lots of fast and slow. Nice feet and ankles. The whole package. She's obviously safe.
9. Hope and Maks danced a Cha Cha to "Tonight" by Enrique Iglesias
Memorable Year: This year, because of the World Cup…getting to the final and then not winning was tough, and a good lesson.
