Undereye Concealer, How I Love You

I’m a huge fan of bags -- just not the pesky little ones that surprise you after a long night. Yup, I’m sure most of you ladies know exactly what I’m talking about: undereye bags. They are a girl’s worst nightmare! There’s nothing worse than waking up in the morning (like that’s not bad enough), looking in the mirror, and seeing puffy dark circles. You haven’t even had your coffee yet; not the best way to start your day.
I’ve had many freakouts over what to do in this situation, and have tried more remedies than I’d like to admit. I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t have any extra time in the mornings, so clearly, lying down with two frozen spoons on my eyes is not realistic.
As I've gotten older, the amount of sleep I get has dwindled drastically. I'm also not the best at staying hydrated (I swear I've gotten better). It’s clear that I'm pretty much the culprit of my puffy undereye bags, though it's easier to complain. But I finally found what works best for me, and to my surprise, it’s pretty plain and simple.
My friend gave me some great advice: "Bring your butt to the store to buy a tube of concealer." Let’s just say I’m still amazed by this little bottle of magic. I never knew that a product could work so well (and be so easy) at transforming my tired look (if only it could take the actual fatigue away, too)!
When it comes to my beauty regime, I don’t have much patience, so the easier the better. That’s why I’ve become completely smitten with undereye concealer. The fact that it was easy to work into my everyday routine -- and the drastic difference it makes for me -- makes it my ultimate everyday product.
Every morning after I put my tinted moisturizer on, I take a tiny bit of concealer (which goes a long way), put it on my ring finger, and dab it lightly under my eyes. I’ve never been a huge fan of brushes, which is why, whenever possible, I use my fingers. I think you’re able to blend it more evenly; the warmth from your fingers makes the application less streaky and it gives a much more natural look, which I’m all about!
Once I’m done blending, I finish my look with some bronzer and blush. Ta-da! A brand-new me is looking awake and refreshed.
The only regret I have is that I went so long without using concealer. To think of all the complaining I did -- it really could have been used toward something else. You live and learn, and you know what? I’ve definitely learned that you can try countless (ridiculous) beauty treatments and products and what works for someone else may not work for you. Don’t give up on finding your own transformational cosmetic, because in the end it’s so worth it!
