Floodwaters that left three people dead and hundreds of families homeless in nine north-central Indiana counties this week entered a slow retreat as displaced residents wondered when they might return home, reports USA Today.
Sarah, aka DarkElfMairead, says this footage is from the North West portion of the state, "The floodwater on both sides of the road is lower lying fields. Do not drive and video tape! I was not looking at the camera, I was looking at the road, it's just luck it turned out so well. Nearby a woman drove through high water and was swept into a ditch. She's fine I hear :)"

The Associated Press reports republican presidential rivals supported a blend of tax and spending cuts to head off an election-year recession they generally agreed is avoidable, during a Fox News sponsored debate in South Carolina.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Senator John McCain of Arizona, former Senator Fred Thompson of Tennessee, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Texas Congressman Ron Paul squared off in Myrtle Beach.
Although the debate was held in South Carolina, the Michigan primary will be held first. South Carolina’s primary is January 19th.
BlogHer's Catherine Morgan, writing at Political Voices of Women writes, "1) I could have lived without the 'pre-debate concert' - it just seemed a little weird to me. 2) I was happy to see they included Ron Paul - shocked, but happy. 3) It’s about time the candidates addressed the economy."
Blogging at Townhall.com, BlogHer's Mary Katharine Ham writes, "...Huckabee's decent, as usual, but continues not to project strength, particularly on foreign policy. He just sounds too nicey-nice, and I'm wondering how that plays in South Carolina."
