I joined BlogHer earlier this year, after realizing that many of the people I follow on Twitter have two things in common -- they actively contribute to the wealth of information and inspiration that circulates the Web, and they are part of the BlogHer comunity. So when it was time to pick the subject for my spring semester research paper, I didn't have to think twice about it.
I'm a public relations graduate student at University of Maryland and I’m currently conducting research to better understand how the BlogHer network enables women to interact with each other and exchange content and information about issues that interest and matter to them. Having received the blessing from one of the Blogher founders to move forward with this study, I'm hoping now that you (BlogHer member reading this post) might be willing to share your thoughts and experiences with me for this project.
Please let me know if you would be willing to participate in a 40 minute telephone interview any day/time between April 22 - May 13 -- though the sooner the better since it will give me more time to analyze your responses and write a much better paper :).
If you are like me and have interviewphobia -- never fear! Questions include things like:
- How often do you read blog posts on BlogHer?
- What general themes, issues or topics do you most usually read about on BlogHer?
- What general themes, issues or topics do you most usually blog about on BlogHer?
- What things do you feel you have in common with other BlogHer members?

Before I go, I thought I'd share some things with you -- Studies show that women are dominating men in social media. And though men tend to be earlier users in social networks, women are more active and make up the majority of some of the most popular sites. Additionally, 59 percent of women have reported visiting these sites multiple times each day. And just so you see that I'm not crazy... check out the 2009 Women in Social Media Study by BlogHer, iVillage, and Compass Partners. Some really great finding there about, well... how much we rock :)
