Dear Time Magazine....

I notice on the cover of your "100 Most Influencial People" issue set for next month, you mention some pretty educated, powerful people; Vladimir Putin, Barack Obama, and Hilary Clinton to name a few. These leaders, whether we're for them or against them, there is no denying these individuals are educated, intelligent and have earned their mark in world history.
So please, tell me why you would devote a cover to someone who lip-synched the National Anthem at President Obama's Inaugeration, who married a well-known drug dealer back in the day with a God-complex, and who became famous for shaking her ass to the tunes of songs like "Crazy In Love", "Single Ladies", "Drunk In Love"...let's not forget her group Destiny's Child and their hits such as "Bootylicious" and "Bills, Bills, Bills"?
Now, I love pop and dance music as much as the next person. But unless men are rushing to put a ring on it or inspiring women to go after thugs with a rather questionable past, how exactly is Beyonce...influencial? Am I missing something?
Is she a great entertainer? Yes. I'm not a "hater", that woman does have talent. But what does this say of our society when we put overpaid singers and entertainers on a pedestal more so than leaders, philantropists and warriors? You know, those that strive to make the world a better place other than releasing one cookie-cutter R&B inspired hit after hit for you to get "turnt up" in the club on a Saturday night? Why not put Angela Merkel or Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on the cover?
But then I realize after typing this, a good majoriy of people will burp out a question mark from their brains at the two names mentioned.
So who do we point the blame of finger at; Time Magazine for putting entertainers with mindless music on a pedestal over world leaders or society for knowing more about Kim Kardashian than they do Michelle Obama?
I will close with this, since I also found out Miley Cyrus is on the list: if Miss Cyrus influences a whole generation of young ladies to "twerk" on married mens' croches, I want to be on the waiting list for the first space shuttle to mars
