Delicious Soy Patty


  1. Soy chunks or Soy crumble (1 Cup)
  2. Onions (1 medium sized- Chopped)
  3. Potatoes (2 medium sized - boiled & smashed)
  4. Green peas
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Red chilly powder (1 tsp)
  7. Coriander powder (1 tsp)
  8. Dry Mango powder (1/2 tsp - optional)
  9. Rice flour OR Corn flour OR Bread crumbs
  10. Oil for shallow frying



Step 1. Soak the soy chunks in 2 cups of water for 15-20 mins. after they are soaked well, press the chunks in your palms so that all the excess water is drained off. You can use soy crumbs instead of soy chunks. 

Step 2. make small pieces of these soy chunks with your hands and keep it in a bowl. 

Step 3. Now mix all the remaining Ingredients except oil and mix mix well. 

Step 4. make small balls out this mix and press slightly between your palms to get the shape of a patty.

Step 5. Pat the patty in rice flour or corn flour or bread crumbs and shallow fry in a pan until golden brown.





  • Soya chunks get soaked very fast, so do not keep them in water for too long.
  • If you are planning this recipe specially for kids, then you can add some cheese to make it more tasty and yummy.
  • You can place this recipe as a starter on you dining table when there are guest at your place, or just have it at snack time with some mint chutney or tomato sauce.
