My daughter cleaned the kitchen today! SHe unloaded the dishwasher, loaded it back up and did it without any prompting from me!
Of course the dishwasher is loaded totally wrong and I will redo it later today, and she didn't wipe down the counters or wash out the sink and there are still a couple of dirty pots on the stove. But still! She made the effort!
This isn't something I should be delighted by, but I am. My daughter is 23 years old. She has no disabilities and is completely able bodied and able minded. She is just lazy and unappreciative and usually oblivious to the needs of others, especially me. Just last year I wrote An Open Letter to My Children which did no good at all. As a matter of fact on the one that was posted on my site, she went so far as to make a snide remark about it.
So today, I will just bask in the glory that is today. WHen I go back and reclean the kitchen I will do it delightedly.
