Denim Day NYC
By _SportsinHeels on April 29, 2014
Denim Day is an annual violence prevention day sponsored by the Los Angeles-based nonprofit Peace Over Violence. Denim Day focuses on raising awareness about abuse and violence against women and children. Participants are encouraged to wear denim throughout the day. Especially those who typically don't wear denim. This year I attended the New York awareness event held at Dasha Wellness & Spa. Attendees were decked in their cute denim outfits, ready to help a worthy cause.
I got my nails done with D.I.D color “Happy” which is a nice bright yellow. D.I.D Billie’s Jeans nail paint color, a dark navy blue was the signature color of the evening. I thought it was a great to have the nail paint on sale during the evening. A portion of the nail polish proceeds were donated to Peace Over Violence.
The night also included back and neck massages provided by Dasha Wellness & Spa. Even though the massage was brief I will say it relieved some built up stress. La Gringa Tacqueria provided the food, they had a “Billie’s Jeans” taco’s with organic blue corn tortillas. Ruskova Vodka kept the drinks flowing with the nights signature drink of Blueberry Crush cocktails.
My event/PR take away from the night:
Though this event was aimed to combat a serious issue the event wasn’t somber.
I love that the event stayed consistent with the denim/blue theme even down to the food.
Telsa group was able to have most of their clients involved with this event. Which for me worked seamlessly and help get each client exposure to a different demographic.
